This weekend is the 11th annual
Old Man Winter Bike Rally & Run in Boulder County, CO. Normally, this event is all about surviving the elements, however, this year it looks to be in the high 50s and very mild. There are three courses to choose from: 23mi, 40mi, and 75mi – all on mixed terrain.
OMW is one of the original gravel events, created in 2015, before gravel became huge. Since Boulder is a Mecca for elite athletes, we will see Olympians, national champions, and many more fast folks this weekend. However, the event was built for riders that just want to get together and have some fun in the middle of winter.
There’s also a 5K and a 10K run. The run and bike combo (10k/40mi) is really popular.
There’s a huge after party with a free sauna and cold plunge, free s’mores, a great DJ, cold, beer, hot soup, bonfires, and overall a great vibe. Hopefully you can make it!
