In a major speech on growing the UK economy, Chancellor Rachel Reeves says she will make Cambridge and Oxford the “Silicon Valley of Europe” and build a third runway at Heathrow Airport – which is now backed by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer even though he opposed it in the past. So will Labour deliver? Can Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves really get the economy firing again? And will it be enough to turn around their recent political woes?

  1. They both should be winning Oscars for selling out on the voters !!! . Especially for the pensioners . Given in to unions demands is a sign of weakness !! We will be in a recession all this hype is to late !

  2. What an utterly surreal conversation. If you must insist on using a phrase apparently borrowed from the nearest available stoner, maybe explain what it means right at the start? You know, for the proles in the audience who weren't invited to Davos or wherever this absurd buzzword was spawned.

  3. From bs to bs. Generally those who can leave are leaving. Contributing to a fair system is one thing, looking after those who have genuine needs is one thing, but being cash cows is ending.

  4. Schumer Sends Warning About Trump’s Federal Funding Freeze: ‘Families Are On The Chopping Block’
    ( News Media)

    Tanggapan:

    —–

    Response:

Inflation drives corporate assets to grow at draining the country of money.

This means that the catastrophic inflation over the past 4 years has been caused by corporate interests guiding the government.

If the act of "gratification" is part of the act of corruption, then this group of barbaric donkeys must be prepared to be investigated for stealing state money by impoverishing the people themselves.

    ——

After January 2024 the US debt was $34 trillion, within the next 100 days or by May 2024 the debt increased to $35 trillion.

Surprisingly, the nbc news media manipulated it into an economic growth achievement at the time.

The level of consumption, which is based on imports, of course drives up the country's debt, which drives up prices; resulting in increased corporate assets.

In other words, selling the country to corporations (hedge fund billionaire goups)

(the above statement is an example of the real facts of how the news media of the barbaric donkey group tried to manipulate / falsify the reality experienced by the people of the United States it self – at the time)

  6. Lots of comments from these speakers are truly misleading. The UK political system is more stable than the US? Really? The UK had five PMs in six years. Is that political stability? American businesses and investors are uncertain about the Trump administration and are looking to invest overseas? Wow. How many people in this current UK government have started or owned a business? The UK is infested with Muslims. Hahaha

  7. No offence here but English people are generally demure, subtle, circumspect and reserved, even Boris was pompous and a bumbling buffoon, if you want someone with passion, aggression and animal spirits, then you probably have to look to one of the other UK nation to find that type….!

  8. Sitting here with these Oxbridge bunnies need more money to enrich themselves “all the other universities” says it all, fkn pathetic!!!

  9. “There were programmes to reduce the cost of employing people” lol that mask slips off, aka we sacrificed the living standards of our people to enrich the corporations was the subtext there….!

  10. Thanks for the breakdown! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). What's the best way to send them to Binance?

  11. Labour spent years waiting in the wings. I would have liked to see them seriously deliver on the right messaging and have a plan for attracting business. We are far from "cool britania"

There is nothing about reeves and starmer that is cool. It's a joke.

And we have NIMBYs throughout this country saying no to every idea. This country is stagnating. Wake up labour!

  12. Another London, South-East centric plan. I agree that innovation has lagged in European economies, but runways, new houses, and train tracks aren't gonna boost innovation and launch the next Deepseek, ChatGpt or Tesla…it completely lacks originality and really asks 'how much brainstorming has gone into this?'

  13. So glad that we got this dude claiming that he was a part of government when they were "good at getting investment" when in reality they did nothing to help productivity-stagnation. I cant believe our population is so dumb that we cant stop voting for the tories and only vote for labour when the tories have ruined everything so bad the next government doesn't stand a chance. I wonder why anyone with a STEM degree wants to leave ASAP.
Oh and to all of you relentlessly acting like this government is only bad and they're doing everything wrong. You're worse than the media, and you're part of the reason why Reform will probably win the next election. I don't like this government very much but at least I've done my own inpartial research and realised "Oh the economy is actually very complicated, and the bank of England seem to have made austerity basically the only option… Yet the government are still trying to do what they can to still invest in the public and private sector."
You're all a bunch of sheep that having fun crying about stuff rather than educating yourselves, funny enough following the collapse of an economy its not that easy to pull your country into prosperity.

  14. 🧹uk crime rate will drop and more jobs created as a entire industry/tourism grows and less wasted police officers less wasted prison space all for a plant which is nature which could help stabilise economy cannabis could help fix the UK bearing in mind we can't even keep prisoners in prison and from research cigarettes/alcohol are worse and they are legal even prescription medication comes with its side effects that can be way worse and people are already smoking cannabis in every village/town/city's all across the uk so why not make it work to your advantage and what are the uk saying that countries that have legalised are criminals ?

  15. 🪠 Legalised death But smoking herb is against the Law and the very people in power in the UK at the minute who opposes legalisation has assets in Canada and Netherlands, in the very cannabis industry they criminal us for and no overdosing/poisoning or dying from weed and weed can be disabled with vitamin C orange will sober you up continue with it being against the law and planes of over 400 passengers per plane leaving every hour and every day across all airports across the UK to go to Amsterdam and countries where it’s legal or accepted to enjoy cannabis per person is spend thousands of British pounds in different countries because we won’t legalise it when it’s medical cannabis market and the 30+ years researching in Netherlands and many other countries that have now legalised and that’s money leaving uk country every single day, and A duty rate of 30 percent could potentially results in the government making 571 million British pounds per year on the legalized and fyi we are all born with Endocannabinoid system is meant for receiving cannabis cannabinoids we are literally made for it not only is it a natural nature plant but we’ve also got an entire system in our bodies designed specifically for that plant not just a simple receptor

  16. I wish they'd explain what they mean by animal spirits. Do they just mean people spending more money? Everyone I know doesn't have that much money to spend because it's sucked up by high mortgages, rent, bills, food bills etc. I kinda feel that unleashing animal spirits means more debt and richer people getting richer. If I'm wrong about that I wish they'd explain why.
