  1. I think actually, like the 70's we're going to see people forced into bikes for economic reasons, the smaller brands like Royal Enfield are well positioned, the likes of Harley Davidson much less so. Focus on why the bikes exist, not as a plaything for middle life blokes, but as an affordable form of transport. Some manufacturers get it, many don't, the future can be bright if they figure it out.

  2. Very interesting and very much echoing my own feelings. I really want to be optimistic but sadly unless something drastically changes I think we are in terminal decline. Why would any youngster want to spend all the money on training, gear, and jump through all the hoops of multiple tests when they can just buy an electric scooter for whizzing around town? I think the A2 licence is ridiculous when it's the same test as the full A livence. We need Politicians to take motorcycles seriously as part of the solution to congestion and cleaner air quality. I think more people like Freddie Dobbs on social media can show motorcycles to be a fun & social activity.

  3. Spent many a happy day in Cusworths in Doncaster but was sad to see it has long since gone. On a happier note I saw that Needhams of Doncaster is still going strong, got my first Simpson 50 from there!

  4. A great chat, fellas. Got my Interceptor from Manhattan, great bunch of guys. Paul, the owner, really friendly & helpful. Haven’t met Steve, he was there last time I was in there, whilst I was dealing with Paul.
We used to ride into Donny, park at Cuworths, have a browse, then go round to Carnell when it was in town. Also the Kawasaki centre, across the road from J&S. I bought a 400/4 from DC Cook in Wath, used to visit there & also the Goldthorpe branch, which was a Honda 5* centre.

  5. Our weather certainly doesn't help encourage more people to get into biking. Drivers are more and more impatient these days too, I hated being on an underpowered 125cc while on my L plates (I'm 50 by the way, new full license rider), it made me feel more vulnerable than bikers already are. The test system puts people off no doubt about it, any 17 year old who passes a car driving test can then buy any power car they can afford. Young people like the look of these new classics too, HNTR and Guerilla would do just as well here IF the test process was improved

  6. As one door closes, another door opens, in an uncertain paradigm seemingly in decline there is still hope for a quality experience to come about, the dedicated and true will survive, the rest will reach their ceiling and dissapear.
