Join me for my tenth early-morning cycling video adventure through the streets of Bournemouth and Poole as I work on rebuilding my fitness and preparing for a healthier, more active retirement!

This POV-style ride through Bournemouth and Poole captures the ups and downs of being middle-aged, out of shape, but fully committed to turning things around. For me, cycling isn’t just exercise—it’s a journey to better health, weight loss, and finding balance in a hectic world.

Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist, getting back on the bike after a break, or starting your own midlife fitness journey, this video is packed with relatable moments. From navigating busy city streets to pushing through physical and mental challenges, I’m sharing it all as I pedal toward my goals.

If you need a dose of motivation for your indoor trainer session or a spark to fuel your fitness journey, this video is for you!

  1. I often have issues with cars trying to pull out from side roads. They are desperate to get out in front of me but misjudge that I am fairly fast on a bike.

  2. With regards to your sensors dropping out, could be poor battery contact as it seems to occur after a patch of rough road (plenty to choose from there)? I have also have been through the same and it turns out the contacts need gentle adjustment periodically. Sorted both my (Wahoo)speed and cadence sensors out.

  3. Too early. Too cold. Too dark. And last and certainly least…too WET! Thanks Mike. I love cycling infrastructure in whatever stage of development!

  4. Mike your out and thats the main thing. I say that all the time i also go just for an hour when thats all i can spare. Love these solo rides makes trainer time barable . Bunkie
