In this video I briefly cover Norbert Witte's failed attempt to rebuild his career as a showman. There's a LOT more to the story. Here's a video from my other channel all about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiSnpW7Jgl8
Sad, I love this type of ride ever since I was a kid when the original Six Flags in Texas had one.
Thank you for not being an AI voice. It's one of the reasons I subscribe to you 😊
This might be my favourite video of yours that I've seen yet… I don't think I need to explain why
I may be in the wrong here, but isn’t anyone else bothered by the fact that the ride operators decided to raise a spinning wheel full of people into a stationary crane boom, which had been parked there for some time? Of course Norbert made a mistake by leaving the boom in the path of travel, but in any other industry, “collision with a stationary object” is generally blamed on the operator of the moving vehicle. I just don’t understand how the thought “Huh, the crane that jerk left here might be in the way of our ride, let’s go yell at him” never crossed the operators mind.
OMG! He causes the accident and then claims he ran in heroically and hit the emergency stop? If that wasn't bad enough, he blames someone else. What a true piece of crap. I was half expecting you to say he ended up taking his own life.
2:18 Hamburgular finally got a real job.
Why is it after hearing about these horrific ride accidents, I'm like "I want to ride that ride… sounds like it'd be fun as long as the safety regulations are adhered to…"
Or maybe it's because after hearing about the accident you know the regulations would have changed to make it safer to ride…
0 to 80mph in 4 seconds is the same acceleration as 0 to 60mph in 3 seconds.

For those curious!
Blows my mind how ANYONE is comfortable and even enjoys ANY kind of amusement park ride. They are so dangerous.
Wow he did not go to jail? Crazy
So he gets worse punishment for drug crimes than killing 7 people through his negligence then trying to blame it on someone else?
“Hamburger Dom” sounds like a mafioso’s fast food joint
you repeat a good chunk of vincenzos story, feels like padding
Dullards in the comments criticizing the crane operator, like every construction worker on earth comes to the youtube comments for the wizened advice of people who graduated from “11minute-video university”.
This would be amazing for lost archeological finds
1:57 the old flak tower looks completely different nowadays: there’s a hotel on top, and the facade and roof are covered in trees and bushes as an attempt to improve the microclimate within all the concrete in the area.
As soon as you said 13th century I turned the video off.
so the crane was there the whole time and people still got on and the operates still started it. makes no sense. its not like it was hidden.
The flak tower looks a lot different nowadays, with five more levels atop, an external stairway around and loads of green plants on its roof – JFTR.
4:35 I don't know why but it was goofy the way you said seats
Did you use to read out football scores? You have the exact intonation with every sentence 😂 "Aston Villa 1, Manchester United, Nil"
I don’t understand how is this Norbert’s fault. The fair ride operators dispatched the ride into the stationary crane. To me it is obvious that they were negligent in not making sure they have the required space for the equipment they were operating. It is as if i park badly across a road next to a parked bus, then the bus driver slams into me killing and maiming the passengers. Yeah perhaps i should not have parked there, but the bus driver for sure should not have drove into my badly parked car.
Maybe I'm wrong, but shouldn't the ride operators have seen how close the boom was and know that it wasn't safe? I feel they should have been held accountable as well. What a horrible story. The victims must have suffered tremendously.
Wildness
@1:55 for people who are curious, look up what the Hamburg Bunker in Germany now looks like 😊❤
This tragedy was 100% preventable! Those people who died and were injured should never have been killed/injured!!
💕🕊️
This type of idiocy and down right careless infuriates me! 😡
When they throw these things up in a day no thanks
being a naturally born hamburger from the 80s, i cant recall, ever even hearing about this one!
i knew there have been ride accidents on the Dom, but didnt knew this one 🤷♂
Talk about a long story made longer……..A crane truck left its crane in the path of another ride. Killing 7.
Info is missing, People get on, people get off, all day long, Very little time between runs of the ride. SOOOOO it would have taken a long time for norbert to drive the crane into position, raise the crane, grab the broken part, lower the part and disconnect it from the crane, and then walk away. Also how did nobody see a giant crane in the way of the ride>??????????????
Hitman: Blood Money anyone?
Vincenzo isn't a German name
This horrific accident was totally avoidable. How could the ride worker not realise how dangerously close this arm was to the ride and stop everything to get it moved..😢😢 😢😢😢
Am I missing something? Why is the time of operation so important? The crane arm was left extended…I can’t see the point of time important…🤷♀️
