Hidden beneath an innocent Scottish farmhouse in Fife lies Scotland’s Secret Bunker. The Secret Bunker lies 135 foot underground. A 450 foot tunnel leads you to the blast proof doors which defend 24,000 square feet of secret accommodation which was built to help safeguard Scotland during the Cold War in the event of a nuclear attack. The nuclear bunker was built in 1952 with the original purpose of being a Royal Air Force radar station. In the 1960s, it was transferred to the Civil Defence Corps. The facility had a cinema, broadcasting capabilities, telephone switchboard. The Bunker hosted a radio engineering workshop, studio edit suite and a soundproof room, all geared to allow the technicians and press officers who formed the Wartime Broadcasting service to produce emergency broadcasts to the general public on topics such as up-to-date war news, official announcements, survival advice and nuclear fallout forecasts. In 1993, it was decommissioned, and became a Cold War museum.

I am interested
Well done. That was interesting. They put out all this information, knowing that survival outside was impossible. A few sets of batteries and jugs of water were just symbols of hope as the radiation took over the area.
Was the bunker meant to protect the military, or were locals supposed to seek shelter there, too?
Did it have a gym?
The kitchen area looked pretty small. I thought that was interesting.
