Speaking during question period on Wednesday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre had a heated exchange about rising vehicle thefts in Canada.

“Auto theft has run rampant under this prime minister. He’s now throwing a cape over his back, claiming that he’s the hero on auto theft. But it’s actually tripled in Toronto and it’s up by 100 per cent in Montreal after he brought in catch and release and house arrest for car thieves,” Poilievre claimed.

In response, Trudeau said that his government’s solution to auto theft is to “Roll up our sleeves, pull together partners from across the country and get to solving it.” He also said Poilievre’s solution is to “Throw his hands up in the air. Blame a raft of political attacks on us and continue to see that he’s not putting forward any real solutions.”

During the heated exchange, Poilievre remarked “Oh wow, is he ever losing control of himself? Oh, my goodness. Screaming and hollering like that.”

  1. Read the book “How To Deal With Trauma From People And Thrive In Woke Times” it’s written by a Canadian guy who covered all this nonsense Trudaue did and his solutions needed for Canadians. Good read

  2. I hate Trudeau but how can you sit here and blame him for car theft? Canada is done….. 🙁 Pierre is gonna finish what Trudeau started and that to destroy canada. We dont want neither one of you

  3. I think this is the first time I have ever seen a Canadian parliament debate (I'm American). It's really surreal to see so many of the trappings of the UK's parliamentary system, while the accents of the people speaking are so close to our own in the USA. Not relevant to the issues discussed, but my thoughts nonetheless.

  4. What's the old adage in law ? "When you've got the facts on your side, pound the facts. When you've got the law on your side, pound the law. And when you've got neither the facts nor the law on your side, pound the table !" That's Trudeau !!!

  5. Jean Chretien is right for standing up for Canada also he mentioned that Premieres of the Provinces were to work together not mud slinging Pierre Pollivierre should really not having his wife speaks for her husband before Pierre Pollivierre can speak he listens to her she tells him what to say Pollivierre said this on National TV he is referring to Mr.Stephan Harper he will not go through all the promises he is making

  6. Watching this back and forth I wonder, what is the point? This is so stupid. In terms of salaries these wasted time of pure circus multiplied by all the parliamentarians cost tax payers tens of thousands of dollars.

  7. Trudeau: "we're rolling up our sleeves and getting to work"
Pierre: you've been "working" for ten years and these are your results. Please continue to deflect and leave all my perfectly good points unacknowledged

  8. Canadian Parliament is just like the British Parliament except you're allowed to clap it seems. And you know what? I think I prefer it without the clapping. Still very interesting to see how the Canadians do it. Do the NDP get a guarenteed number of questions like our 3rd largest party?
