PBP Story #28 – Today, we have Cesar Villegas who is originally from Mexico but moved to Portland, Oregon, when he was 13. Amazingly, only 5 Mexican nationals have ever finished PBP, and Cesar’s 2023 time of 72:16 is the fastest. His original intention was to post a fast time, maybe even a Charly Miller, however things did not go to plan. Fortunately, he was able to come back from the brink of a DNF to complete the ride.

Paris Brest is a long-distance cycling event with a rich history. Established in 1891 as a professional race, it has evolved into the premier amateur endurance cycling event. Every four years, thousands of cyclists from around the world attempt to finish PBP’s grueling 1,200-kilometer (745-mile) route, within the 90 hour time limit.
