Had a minor abdominal surgery 11 days ago, so still on limited lifting/activity. Healing well, but crawling up the walls wanting to DO SOMETHING. Heading to local trails seemed inadvisable, so I picked a local lake and went for a mellow cruise.

It was fun to freehand the text. My wife said it’s better than my normal handwriting. The evening light gave me a fairly good view of the previous tracks so it was fairly straightforward to try to match things up. I debated doing this in cursive but opted against that as I barely remember how to write in cursive, and lots of people can’t read it now. Snow conditions were perfect on the lake – thin and wind-packed – so it wasn’t too strenuous. Temp was about 9 below when I finished. The light from the setting Sun was beautiful.

Bike is a 2011 Mukluk with the old Graceful Fat Sheba rims and a mongrel build that’s evolved over the years. Bike is held up with a wireless trackstand adapter*, which makes taking shots like these a breeze, unless there’s an actual breeze.

*which would be pretty cool and would be totally doable, but sadly doesn’t exist yet to my knowledge. Really it’s wide tires and crunchy snow and not much wind.
