About the Speaker:
Dr. Balveer Singh is a young professional astromoner, currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the Department of Mathematics, School of Science and Engineering, University of Dundee, United Kingdom. Dr. Singh completed his Ph.D. in solar -Astrophysics from Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IIT-BHU), India, in 2022. Following this, he continued his research as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow under Aditya-L1 mission project, titled “Aditya-L1 Support Cell,” at Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) Nainital, Inida, with a joint effort of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) in Nainital, India. His primary research focuses on observations and numerical simulations of various Sun’s plasma processes.
Additionally, Dr. Singh has been involved in several outreach programs and has delivered several public, popular, and special Scientific talks. He has also published several research papers in reputed peer-reviewed International journals. Recently, Dr. Singh has been recently elected as a Fellow of Royal Astronomical Society (FRAS), London, United Kingdom. He is also life-time member of many professional bodies such as Astronomical society of India (ASI), Plasma Science Society of India (PSSI), etc.
