Werner Olijnyk from Friedberg in Hesse is one of the veterans of German hill climb racing. He was already successful on the hill in the 1970s in a VW Beetle and VW Beetle Group 5. In the 1980s he was known for his Ford Escort BDA. In the 1990s and 2000s he drove ex-DTM vehicles from the Mercedes brand.
