  1. Which climbs are on your "best climbs" list? πŸ‘€ Which of the ones we mentioned have you ridden? πŸš΅β€β™‚ Let us know!

  2. The Madonna del Ghisallo climb is a must-do for any cyclist. Its history, stunning views, and challenging gradient make it an unforgettable experience. More importantly, the Madonna del Ghisallo, the patron saint of cyclists, watches over every rider who conquers this climb.

  3. In my humble opinion many of the climbs on this list get to much credit based on their place in cycling history. A truly beautiful and great climb should give you the impression that the road has been there for all eternity, but at the same time a feeling of it being carved out that day, just for you. Ideally it should be narrow and without road markings (yellow lines). There should be as little infrastructure as possible in the surroundings (dams being an odd exception to the rule), and as good as no traffic (as little as possible). This do exclude almost all of the climbs on your list (and some of mine, if you ride them in high season).
    Some of my personal favorites:

    – Colle del Nivolet (Italia)
    – Grosse Scheidegg (Schweiz)
    – Colle Fauniera/Colle dei Morti, from the North ( Colle d'Esischie) (Italia)
    – Mangartsko Sedlo (Slovenia)
    – Osafjell (Norge)
    – Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Italia)
    – Cirque de Troumouse (France)
    – Puerto de La Cubilla (EspaΓ±a)
    – Col du Solude from Le Bourg-d'Oisans through Villard-Notre-Dame (France)
    – BlΓ₯sjΓΈ (Norge)

  4. Meadows in the sky parkway in Revelstoke BC and Apex mountain road in Penticton BC.
The ride up to silverstar resort would be fun aswell.
MT Norquay is a classic with a nice over look of Banff, start your ride Canmore and take the Legacy trail

  5. I did the Alpe d'Huez and another very different one that I recommend is the Teide from Los Christianos. A steady 6% climb from the sea to almost 3000m.
It is you, your bike, the volcano and very beautiful views.

  6. Mont Aigoual should be included. Absolutely beautiful and the descent is like something out of this world. Arguably the world’s most famous book about cycling was written about this climb, The Rider by Tim KrabbΓ©. And for good reason

  7. Top 10 in no particular order: KOM Taiwan, Mauna Kea Hawaii, Pico Veleta, Roque de Los Musachos La Palma, a 50km long climb in the Andes (don't know the name), the highest pass in the world between China and India, Stelvio, Bonette starting in Nice, Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse and, to end with an iconic one, Ventoux (in July it will wait for me and I hopefully can do it within 1h and 27m. (Top 5000 in Strava)

  8. I would argue a bit about Col de la Bonette being the highest pass in Europe, as getting to the top is an optional detour from the mountain-pass, "up there and back again". On most lists the Col de l'IsΓ©ran is the highest "true" mountain pass, while de la Bonette is on the list of highest paved roads…

  9. While Bourg-d'Oisans is a cyclist's haven, Alpe d'Huez stands out as both the most iconic and arguably the least enjoyable climb in the region

  10. I live in Mallorca, and if a newbie asked me, I would probably say Sa Calobra, but it's a climb I hardly ever ride and I have many others on the island that I prefer.

  11. the footage of the cobbled climb is actually the gotthardpass, not the furka. easy to combine as they're both linked by the urseren valley and the ascent from the val tremola up to the gotthard is a classic on its own. however i wouldn't necessarily call the furka switzerlands best climb. as far as the views go, sustenpass, grosse scheidegg or the col du sanetsch are easily superior, and if you want a high altitude challenge, the nufenenpass tops out even higher and the ascent from the west is a good bit steeper

  12. Can't believe Conor missed St. Patricks hill in Cork. And Doi Inthanon too. Part 2 required please! In fact, best to probably just do a top one hundred and be done with it!

  13. I think adding the stats of the ride it text form over the top of the video would help me process all these km/elevation figures. Just sounded like a load of numbers to me.

  14. Cime de la Bonnet is epic, did it on Inferno too; fantastic climb even at my 90kgs…Passo Giau was also amazing but did have the other climbs on the Maratona in my legs.
