We signed a memorandum of understanding with Saarbrücken-based energy provider Energie SaarLorLux AG to convert the 53 MW GAMOR power plant to #hydrogen by 2032 at the latest.

Having already supported the coal phase-out in 2022 with five Jenbacher J920 FleXtra engines, the conversion to green hydrogen will enable CO2-free electricity supply for 65,000 households and CO2-free heat supply for 11,000 households.

#Sustainability meets security of supply: Our Jenbacher engines are black start capable, meaning GAMOR can restore both the power supply for Saarbrücken’s district heating and the water supply during a blackout. GAMOR is one of the few power plants in Germany with this critical capability.

Join us in our journey towards a climate-neutral future.
