Ridonculous! Racing non-yachts with non-bike riders in a made up 'sport' using made up rules, and wasting billions to win a cup worth…a few thousand?

The world's most powerful cyclists are Ironman triathletes. The winner of the bike leg at kona in 2024 was putting out 910 watts for substantial parts of the bike leg. He did 180km in 3:56, and that's after a 3.8km swim and prior to a 42.2km run. Also, in about 80% plus humility 😂
How good is the safety for the guys sitting in hull if the boat capsizes? I would rather be on the deck compared to sitting in the hull if the boat capsizes.

You should analyse all the different teams' cyclor set ups, AM was one of the weirdest layback seats, the other teams had better more traditional uprights. Check power outputs between the teams!

I guess the america's cup is an unregulated cycle event, it could explain a lot of the performance.
It is like comparing rugby players bodies with american football players.

Very interesting video. I've got some projects that involve pedaling a hydraulic pump.
New Zealand was the first to use cyclors, back in 2017. It was such an advantage, that it was banned in further competitions. NZ setting the rules this time is probably why it was allowed. This was not an American Magic innovation.
I met Ashton in 2019 at Midsouth gravel in Stillwater, OK. He was making waves on the track with HUUB wattbike back then. Such a nice, solid guy to chat with. Cool to see his career develop into so many varied things.
In the recumbent position in the boat it's no problem to be heavy, since you are not climbing hills. The power goes directly to the drivetrain. Very interesting with the pedals running the hydraulics!
