Welcome to my channel and thanks for watching this video! If you enjoyed watching it would be really appreciated if you could give it a THUMBS UP to let me know! 🙂

Today’s ride is from Leverhulme Park on the east side of Bolton, along the former Bolton to Bury Railway Cycleway into Bolton city, then head south along the former Bolton to Eccles Railway path to Walkden. This is the first time I’ve taken the bike on the Bolton to Eccles trail, and there are numerous trails beyond Walkden that I’ll be visiting in future videos.
The weather was cold at about freezing point but the temps were just starting to rise after a few days of sub-zero snow and ice. There were still patches of both along the route, plus plenty of melt water puddles to navigate!
Overall it was a good ride and I’m looking forward to more adventures in this area.

The video was captured on a DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro camera as a hyperlapse at 2x speed.

Thanks for watching, hope you enjoy 🙂

  1. Thank you for introducing me to the upper section of the Eccles/Monton to Bolton line. I'm very familiar with the "Roe Green Loopline" section, along with the Swinton Greenway and Linnyshaw Loopline, all part of one of my regular rides, but I've never ventured up Anchor Lane over the M61 to pick it up on the other side. My own fault for not studying Google Maps and then exploring for myself, but it helps to actually see a cyclist's view of it.
