  1. #askgcntech what are my options to remove a seatpost that is stuck fast. Steel frame Genesis, Ti seat post, 10k kms of zwifting. LBS has told me they wont do it for fear of damaging my bike.

  2. #askgcntech: My #1 ride is a 1992 custom steel road frame that I bought new. It has horizontal Campagnolo dropouts. I have always had intermittent problems with the axle slipping in the dropout, mostly from standing starts like traffic lights. I have my quick release set really tight which helps but I still get occasional slipping.
Do they make better skewers? Is it possible to switch my Campy 11 hub to a solid axle with track nuts? I'm willing to try anything short of replacing my frame, I like it and still ride it all the time.
    Thx, -K

  3. #askgcntech Hi guys. I’ve watched hundreds of road, MTB and gravel videos on YouTube and I’ve noticed in most gravel videos there’s always someone who gets a puncture. I’m about to venture into gravel riding and tubeless for the first time and it’s got me thinking, are gravel tyres up to the job? In your experience, are they more prone to punctures? Or is it that gravel riders aren’t afraid to show themselves getting a puncture!

  4. I have tracked the wear of my Assos bibs for several years. I started when I read in the Assos documentation that the shorts should last about 10,000 km. So far, I have used and retired a pair of Equipe shorts for just over 12,000 km, and a pair Cento shorts for about the same distance, but not yet retired those.

  5. This is excellent! My wallet has TRC20 USDT, and I saved this phrase: 《pistol daughter jewel spawn best noise exact concert recycle march drift nose》. How can I access it?

  6. Before you guys got rid of Manon, she showed a 'hack' with floral arrangement foam blocks for duplicating cleat position. It was probably the greatest hack of all time on the old corporate GCN.

  7. As a heavier rider who has lost a lot of weight (upwards of 100lbs), large weight decreases def improves performance/ability. Can't not. But marginal bike weight decreases in a bike are likely not to make any major improvement.

  8. What about 3d printing a set of bearing press adapters for the particular BB and then using a threaded rod and two nuts with them? Does that count as a proper tool or not?

A year ago I builts first racing road bike a Cinelli Veltrix medium, running 30mm Vitoria Corsa pro on 19mm internal rim width. Understandibly I find it more twitchy descending and on faster cornering than my winter bike. A Cannondale Topstone Alloy Medium 28mm Hutchinson fusion 5 on 19mm internal rim width. I'm a lot more comfortable and probably faster on my winter road bike, due to the stability. The wheel base of the Cannondale is 68mm longer than the Cinelli. Will wider tyres 32/34mm if they fit the Cinelli, aid this issue or is this more of a geometry issue I can't escape with wider tyres? Thanks Clive

  10. Reference weight loss on the body compared to the bike. To lose weight on your body may also improve your cardio vascular system, fat that is between the muscle fibres will enable more powerful contractions. There are many indirect facts that would make you faster on the bike by losing weight. I think we should be promoting weight loss in society rather than paying for speed.

  11. Oh god. Worn bibshorts where the fibres are so threadbare that you can see their pale bum cheeks. The biggest motivation for speeding up and passing a cyclist ever 😂

  12. I may have mentioned this to you guys before, but Mary Jane’s Dad, the original owner of Mack Cycle, as a soldier in WW II stood guard on the Pirelli factory. She may have a picture of him in uniform. I’ll see if she’d send it to you or let me send it. Anyway, it’s an amazing connection. You may recall that Mack Cycle was your first “Best Bike Shop in the World”.

  13. #askgcntech Hi guys. I went for a bike fit, I wanted to know the right measurements to be well positioned therefore I asked for a report however they just could deliver me how my joints were and how they ended. I think that could make the bike fit by myself at home, is there any app or something that you can recommend me?. Thank you a lot.

  14. Alex and Ollie, I Zwift and ride outdoors. I’ve noticed a discrepancy between my Wahoo heart rate monitor (chest) and my Apple Watch (wrist) heart rates. As an example, i will be on Zwift and riding when my Wahoo Edge 2 reads 79 BPM but my Apple Watch reads 139 BPMs. I’ve noticed similar issues outdoors. Is this normal? I understand they wouldn’t read exactly the same but to be so far off seems really strange to me. I know that on Zwift this messes with my Watts Per Kilo and my racing. Is there a way to better calibrate them? Help! Keep up the great work guys. Love you, bye.

  15. #askgcntech I use a wax-based lube (Tru Tension Banana slip) on my gravel bike. It's a great lube and keeps the chain running smooth and clean. Wet muddy winter rides are a problem as the chain, cassette, and chain rings end up with surface rust forming by the time I next use the bike. Am I just not paying enough attention to drying the components after a ride or is it better to use an oil based lube in the winter?
