Sarah Champion – MP for Rotherham – has u-turned on her previous stance, and is now asking for a national inquiry into the grooming gangs scandal. The MP for Rochdale Paul Waugh is also now open to the idea of a national inquiry. Andy Burnham also wants a national inquiry – is there a rebellion starting in the Labour Party?

Chloe Dobbs reacts.

  1. It eveb brouggt a male tv presenter to tears just shows how bad UK has got .one thing dont get how did public krt it go on all these years and noone saying qnything in tory reign of horror for 14 years

  2. We have emails proving collusion between local authorities, the police, and the BBC in covering up rape gangs because they were more concerned about "social cohesion". An inquiry will at best tell us what we already bloody know, and at worst tell us nothing. Especially if the people at the centre of the conspiracy – most of the political establishment – are allowed to control the inquiry.

  3. Didn't she vote against it last week though 🤔
She did her best to make it all about hurty words not the actual subject as they so often do with Rupert lowe last week . Strange how her stance appears to have changed 🤔 has she got a genuine opinion ?

  4. Starmer got so many skeletons in his and the Labour Party 🥳 🎉 cubed they will do anything to avoid the INQUIRY get this INQUIRY up and running ASAP 🏃‍♀️

  5. Hopefully a national inquiry will also investigate the failure of police & CPS to prosecute public servants who covered up the abuse and they will be held accountable too. Our MPs in Westminster clearly don't want anyone prosecuted.

  6. Anyone with a Ounce of Humanity Should Welcome a NI by a Independant Source ,NOT a Labour one and taking Instructions under the Table by Starmer , The Labour lot have Something to hide about this , Well Done the. 3 so far for Going against the Vote

  7. I don't care if a National inquiry uncovers groups of Patagonian Agnostics operating on the Welsh Border or Ex-Labour ministers destroying the lives of youngsters in the UK, it's the youngsters that we want protecting, and anyone, I mean anyone who has failed to do their job or actively assisted these rape gangs, by turning a blind eye, for the most part need to be dragged in front of cameras, firstly to explain themselves, and secondly, to know that they should have feared the national response to their actions/inactions and not the rape gangs response to being brought to justice. This isn't going away, too many children were sacrificed at the alter of not upsetting the apple cart. Well those apples are rotten, it is time to clear this rotten mess up and safeguard our children.

  8. I doubt she is defying anything. She knows a local inquiry will achieve nothing and they will have full control over it: this is just a fake gesture to redeem herself for the ridiculous display of false emotion in parliament after Rupert lowes questions. I wouldn’t be surprised if starmer had told her to do this to keep the peace with the public and make us think they give a damn

  9. Sarah Champion is who gave Rupert a hard time in Parliament over his support over the victims, she's also the MP for Rotherham, she never called our for this before until its brought to the surface!

What makes you think this is a genuine call for a National Inquiry?

For a start she's said it'll be "Local led" – she's obviously been instructed to "deal" with this by those who are complicit who need to be protected.

At best this is a reaction to appease the public imo, nothing will come of it.

  10. So you did not want to vote for the amendment and lose the whip but she is now 'saying' she is against it – It's not what people say it's what they DO you should judge them by.

  11. She's a massive hypocrite. She was seen in the commons crying at Rupert Lowe's words about the grooming gangs! It's no coincidence that she looks like Cruella Dr Ville! Her brain has certainly gone to the dogs!

  12. PAUL 🇬🇧 People should watch Maggie Oliver on the Mass Industrial raping of vulnerable British Children, by Islamic gangs. And Gordon Brown when he was Prime Minister, he knew. Then watch the Mark Dolan podcast, on his show was an Lawyer he states upto 250:000 vulnerable British Children were raped across the Country, by these Islamic gangs, its not funny.

  13. At least she can look at herself in the mirror again. Many British men need to get their act together and start protecting British schoolgirls.
