Put a 11-42 cassette on the back a year ago, it worked (GRX400) but was always clunky in some gears. Finally bit the bullet and bought the road link for the RD and all gears now shift flawlessly. Just a tip for anyone who’s done the same or thinking of adding the extra gears. Don’t judge the granny gears, I’m in the mountains on a steel with 650b 2.25 tyres. My road to get out anywhere is 18% alone. This is my new commuter (50km each way), a bit of everything along the way, bike path, MTB single track, road etc…
