  1. Rule #1 of riding fixed: Never EVER! stop pedaling If for some reason you forget rule #1 let your knees buckle
edited to add: to go faster you have to pedal faster. It isn't about power as much as it is leg speed

  2. i had a showerthought that would benefit junior and kids racing at a young age. singlespeed racing would make it so much more accessible for parents to get their kids into racing while also making it safer in a way (lower top speed)

  3. Indoor Kart Racing is vastly different than this type of crit racing. Its entirely more technical in indoor kart racing as well as swapping out to different gear ratios to play to briefly darting out of corners to handling sharper turns. I disagree that you can conserve speed on an indoor track.
Where as this level of crits has more of the tactics you cover quite often.

Thank you for the great content !

  4. Great video Jeff and Will. To me this is reminiscent of F1 – I'm sure super interesting and difficult to actually do, but not great as a spectator sport because it's so hard to pass, you're just watching a funeral procession the whole time.

  5. Thank you for the fixed gear content and then it is also our event 🤯
If anyone is interested in watching the full race from another perspective we got you covered: https://youtu.be/X72OxyCqK1E
@Jeff if you are interested in analyzing some more fixed gear footage we would be more than happy to provide it to you. I have a lot of videos laying around 😉
    Keep up the great work!

  6. At 4:36 you can see a Dolan Pre Cursa, one of the best value fixed gear you can find. A true classic.
You can race it on the velodrome or commute with it.
Framesets go for $500 new but there are usually some for way less second hand.
If you want to start riding but don't want to drops grands on a road bike, buy this.
