Comes from government , using councils to do their dirty work !
Can someone correct me if I’m wrong, if an engine is at 1500 rpm it kicks out the exact same harmful gases at what ever gear your in? So if I’m doing 20mph @ 1500rpm I’ll be in the area longer than I would be if I was doing 30mph @ 1500rpm thus putting more harmful gases into the area at the lower speed.
Stevenage BC put out a survey last year on this subject, you had to read the questions carefully as they were loaded for bias in favour of the speed reductions in the name of “Pedestrian Safety “ but they gave NO actual data to prove the reductions were needed. If they think this is necessary they need to give proof of their assertions, specific numbers of accidents, causes, fatalities, speeds of vehicles involved, age of involved people, times of the day, these details all effect the outcome. People will want safety when it is proved necessary, also the number of vehicles involved that are uninsured…..this will give an indication of police effectiveness. Also, I think the people should also be told where the money raised from the fines generated will be spent should this be approved…..governance by the people for the people. Not some woke power driven, faceless committees. DO THINGS FOR THE RIGHT REASONS.
I'm not for it at all but people can't even adhere to a 30mph speed limit, they don't even police the 30 zones
I studied petrol driven vehicles in my engineering degree ! Fact! A petrol and diesel engine are at their least efficient at low speeds! For every 5 mile per hour difference in speed due to heat , vacuum velocities etc the internal combustion engine becomes 3 fold less efficient! Numpties in charge are killing people and making the environment worse!! Ha ha ha couldn't write a book about all these mistakes!!

I can remember the 50s & 60s I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK. Its what the WEF government etc a certain religion want.

The councils are supposed to work for the people who pay their salaries & overinflated pensions. And will have to pay for the new signage.
Consultations are a waste of time and money. Councils and government just ignore them. They'll waste our money regardless because they know they can claw it back from us.
'You will own nothing and be happy' this includes car ownership, these WEF scum will keep pushing the working classes out of owning anything, whilst the rich keep driving and flying where and when they want!

We have had 20m limits painted on the roads for about 5yrs, no one sticks to it and the police certainly dont police it!
One ev bursting into flames probably causes more pollution than any diesel/ petrol car does in it's lifespan!
Odds are stacked against the motorist even more than it has ever been and it will get worse.
Which vehicles are made to be economical at 20 mph ? Which vehicle is geared to just travel about at 20 mph permanently? Why is this mindset a thing nowadays. Do they all go to the same training courses? It seems so.

I have my own personal limits on what im prepared to pay for tax and insurance.
Once i reach those, and its not far off, i shall stop driving.
If pay per mile gets me first i shall also stop.

2o mph is double the speed of the traffic around London they will all get nose bleeds whizzing around at 20,that's if they have ever got out of first gear since the 1960s.
