Hey all. So I was messing around with my derailleur after a crash, and found this bolt here that was covered by a torx dustcap.
So I of course had to take it off to see what was beneath, and there was an Allen bolt.
I couldn’t resist turning it to see what would happen…. And nothing happened. It just keeps turning and turning both ways.
I know that the bolt has something to do with the clutch, and that SRAM clutches are built in, always on, and are not intended to be serviceable. Yada yada.
But really, what does turning this bolt do? I can’t find any information about it online, and there’s nothing in the SX manual about it.
I would assume it’s to adjust the friction of the clutch, making it tighter or looser? But like I said, I turned quite a while both ways and it didn’t seem to be threading in/out of anything.
So my derailleur hasn’t blown up yet, but what should I do with this bolt now that I’ve messed with it? The derailleur is working fine and the derailleur is still really stiff to snap back and forth, so I don’t think I’ve really changed anything?
