Hi Everybody
I will be cycling (Bikepacking) through South America next summer. Going from Sao Paulo to Santiago de Chile. After the hot part (Paraguay and Brazil). I will be spending most of the time in the mountains in Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. We will also cycle above 5000m and summiting a Volcano at 6000m
Since I will be on the road for many days (about 70 nights) I thought Id go with a synthethic sleeping bag with a comfort temperature of -10°C (15°F). Additionally I will bring a liner to sleep in the warmer temps.
Currently I own a sleeping pad with a R value of 2.4. (I might get a cheap one from Decathlon with R Value 1.5 just to put it underneath it in the cold nights)
Do you think my sleeping bag choice with the Snugpak tactical 4 https://snugpak.com/products/tactical-4-wgte will be allright?
Its not the lightest and it takes up a lot of room, but I since I believe a synthetic bag might be better for my needs I am leaning towards this one.
What other "cheap" options would you recommend (maybe also a lighter one)? (I will be ordering from Switzerland)
Thank you in advance
