Bike : SLX CF 8 endurance. ( 1.5 yo and ~6k km / never crashed )
Problem : Lots of headset play
Living on the French-German border I have always contacted the German customer service. I even bought my bike from Canyon German. It was much faster and easier to get.
To contact support, I connected support but unawarely I connected to the FR one.
After explaining the problem, he told me that I should take the bike to a Canyon service shop. I asked if it was under warranty to which he replied that there was no warranty for a wear part. He even told me to buy a 60eu part and all this based on a 2 min chat. Incredible. Later I ask if it is normal for a bike this age to already have this problems to which he simple says 'yes'.
fortunately the web browser bugged and the conversation stopped there.
I immediately connected to the German customer service.
Explained the problem again he simply said that I should go to a Canyon official service shop because it was impossible to make a diagnosed based on a chat ( nonetheless French canyon can).
When I asked the same question about having this problem for such a 'new' bike, he said that it could happen but he couldn't say anything else about it cause he didn't know the causes.
So FR service propose 60eu new part while Germans are more prudent about it.
Unfortunately it was not till the end of these experiences that I recalled watching a video about adjusting the height of the handle bar.
I just needed to tighten up the headset using the headset tool. Unfortunately there is inner cable that is on top of the screw so it was quite difficult to screw the tool correctly.

Either case, no new bearings, no visit to the bike shop, just watch a video and get your bike working again.
ps: never again contact the Canyon FRANCE
