Teal MP Allegra Spender has been attacked over her support for a bike lane into the Sydney CBD.

Small businesses have told Sky News Australia the lane would be catastrophic.

Exclusive figures show data relied upon by Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore to justify the cycleway appear grossly exaggerated.

  1. Ironically, collapsing businesses mean less services for the inner city leftist elite. They'll have to come out to us plebs in the burbs for their pretentious latte and avi on eggplant.

  2. These far left especially green party ideas are always based on bullshit data. Happens here in nz. Its all virtual signalling and costs a lot of money while wrecking business.

  3. what i really dont understand is why do the bike lanes have to be on the MAIN THOROUGHFARES?

theres PLENTY of side roads. that all have been blocked off to force vehicles to use those MAIN THOROUGHFARES.

epping road? they still insist on riding on the road itself… i drive on the footpath, i lose my license. they switch from footpath to road to bike lane to road and noone bats an eyelid.

yet epping road there would be a lovely place to have stuck an elevated bike lane through the treetops… not only safe and convenient but also PLEASANT… (im reminded of the pathway they had in hornsby TAFE? or maybe the "seabridge" down south? cutcliff? coalcliff? i forget… infrastructure that is aesthetically pleasing as well as being useful?)

its the same as all the highrise and developments taking place… rather than locate them "out of the way" a bit, they stick them on MAIN THOROUGHFARES.

then throw up one way streets, speedhumps, traffic lights, speed cameras, lower speed limits, and all it does is build more anger, more frustration, and makes congestion worse as theres now twice as many people now forced through bottlenecks of MAIN THOROUGHFARES.

"What if a small group of world leaders were to conclude that the principal risk to the Earth comes from the actions of the rich countries?… In order to save the planet, the group decides: Isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn't it our responsibility to bring that about?" – Maurice Strong (First Director of the United Nations Environment Program)

  5. A civilised city will have no cars. Sydney is such a barbarous culture.Just starting to get the air clean and these petrol head propagandists wants to move the clock back…..
Cars only after 12 p.m. and then just delivery vans. Yeah! Power to the bicycle and electric cycle….
People with shares in oil prices or car manufacturing would support less bicycle ways. The other 99.99% of people would support even more bicycle paths
