Welcome to part 4 of our 1500 km Camino along the Via Podiensis — from Le Puy-en-Velay, France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. In this episode we stay on the GR 65, visiting the towns of Figeac and Cajarc.
We started the Via Podiensis (Le Puy Camino or Chemin du Puy) on August 7, 2023, spending 28 days walking in France, arriving at Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port on September 3rd. From there, we continued on the Camino Frances, arriving in Santiago on September 29th.
This is our first time walking the Via Podiensis and our second time on the Camino Frances. We have hiked several other Camino routes in Spain including the Camino Primitivo (May 2023), Camino de Invierno (March 2023), the Camino del Norte (July 2019), and the Camino Frances (September 2017). We packed ultralight bags for all of our journeys.

Fabulous. Really feel for you with the heat.
I don't know how you survived that heat! I will definitely be doing th Camino in October or November! 🥵
I really love your videos. The footage is excellent but I especially love your carefree, be-yourself, embrace the moment personalities. As someone who always acted in front of the camera, I appreciate seeing people comfortable being themselves — funny, spontaneous, and goofy at times. Shell-ter 😂
MOTHEW!!!
We are taking lots of notes! This route is next for us, either in 2024 or 2025. We were on the Camino de Santiago in June/July this year and the heat wasn't too bad but we heard it became oppressive in August. So sorry guys, we feel your pain, it reminded us of our Via Francigena in 2022, the heat was unbearable with no relief! UGH! Yet we are planning another Camino! 😆 We hope our paths cross – we need to find a place to swing dance {insert stalker reaction}! 😆
At 49 seconds, the second window opened on the left is where we stayed our second night. We went to bed early and we could hear the singing inside the cathedral as we fell asleep. It was magical. I loved Conques, it s all you want in a French village. Keep inspiring.
Mosquitoes and sleeping in the heat, couple of my least favorite things. Thanks for the heads up.
I have to know where you got your dress! that is perfect
My wife and I walked from Le Puy last year starting August 19th. Heat wave. It was very tough for a goodly while. When did you start from Le Puy?
