The spring 2023 bikepacking Britain trip takes me along the eastern coast of Scotland, through Dundee and St Andrews, along the Fife peninsula, and then across the huge Forth suspension bridge into Edinburgh and Leith. Then the farmland takes me to the Scottish-English border and the wedge of land between there and Hadrian’s Wall, which has been battleground territory for thousands of years. I’ll also visit Lindesfarne where I hope not to get cut off by the tides, and then Bamburgh castle. A little ferry over the River Tyne takes me into South Shields and the finish at Sunderland.

  1. After finding out that my ancestors came from Shropshire/Manchester – I read a History of Britian. I remember the chapter where the Vikings first invaded and plundered a monastery. I really enjoyed seeing the actual place where it all happened. Wasn't that monk the first to write a history book?

  2. excellant video,as are the previous cycling episodes…ive got the same hybrid bike, the crank peddle cog clicks like a clock, ive had a new lower bracket put on,but its no differant….roll on the next video…many thanks…

  3. 3:30 no way … that's spooky as bro…. I only went over it for the first time a few years back and had never been to Dundee but before I did cross the bridge, I had a vivid dream of being on that bridge in a train and it collapsing into the water, I even told my wife about it the first time going over, I was like I've been on this bridge before in a dream and fell into the water, I never knew it had collapsed before….

  4. Brilliant – as always. I love Lindisfarne – I love islands in general. And the Forth Bridge always reminds me of Film Noir, but I'm not sure why. Can't wait for the next instalment! Great film Ollie.
