To all my subscribers, thanks for your support over the past two years. I will be back soon and I’ll keep you updated with the website developments.

Questions people may ask about this video?

1) Why don’t you try crowdfunding or kickstarter, etc? Not interested in charity/donations and it’s not sustainable for what I’m trying to achieve. The website will benefit many large organizations in Norway and thus I want to focus on receiving support from those that it directly benefits.

2) Why don’t you make videos that can attract more views so you can grow the channel more quickly? I have a long-term vision for the channel and company and will focus on that. Short-term gains can inevitably leave you limited in scope and constantly chasing viewer numbers at the expense of your integrity and passion.

3) When will Cyclenorway.com be ready? The estimated launch date is early April 2023.

4) What will be included on the website? I will do a special video about this in the coming months.

  1. Wow, a lot of comments on this one! Unfortunately, I can't reply to them all but please note, I have read every one and appreciate wholeheartedly the positive support from so many people. I look forward to updating you on developments in the coming months. Much respect, Matthew

  2. the irony, of me, born and raised i norway, looking to a brit for advice on traveling norway 😂😂 love this channel, and you tell amazing stories Matthew!

  3. I went on a short roadtrip this summer ( juli) to do all the top rated climbs in Norway ( trollstigen, dalsnibba, juvass, sognefjellet, strynefjellet..), and was very suprised about how few cyclist I saw. Trollstigen was the only place where I did not feel alone. I saw maybe 10 cyclist going up there. But on the other climbs, there was nobody or max 1-2 riders. And the weather was mostly awesome. It does take alot of driving at times to go to these places , so bikepacking makes more and more sense to me. I really think this website is needed, and can't wait to see it live. Good luck !

  4. All the best Matt, just started watching you last weekend. Can't stop watching. And to avoid spamming you with yet another email, I'll await the website to start planning my Norway trip. Cheers!

  5. Congratulations on obtaining support Matthew, I really enjoy your channel. I cycled in Norway in 2021 and yes, the tunnels are the major issue for cyclists and can potentially putting us off from going there. I was clipped by a car's mirror in a tunnel in Switzerland a few years and was very lucky the car itself didn't hit me. So now I am very apprehensive about using tunnels. From your "death road" video it is obvious that the situation could be slightly improved if the original roads that have been replaced by the tunnels could be properly maintained.

  6. I'm from Denmark and what always concerns me with biking in Norway is the weather.. Norway is very beautiful but somehow Germany/Austria /Italy always seem to win when it comes to choosing a destination. Maybe I should indeed give it a try up further north one day soon.

  7. That is so exciting! I can't wait to see the website. Norway is my dream cycle trip! You make amazing videos! I am glad you found someone to partner with you!

  8. Matthew you are doing great work! Go for it and keep your head up like you showed here! Probably the people that gave the no's were not ready for it but time will come and the wind will change!

  9. Бажаю успіхів!!!Будь сильним,не здавайся!!!У тебе все вийде!!!Живи мрією,і все буде чікі бамбоні!!!Дякую за контент,привіт з України;)

  10. Sitting in my backyard in Tasmania, Australia watching your videos trying to plan a possible cycle trip through Norway in 2023. Really hope you get your website up soon as there really is that lack of basic information out there.

  11. Wow, I can't believe I didn't notice this video until now. You even featured my comment on you being the perfect guy for this project! Sad to see VisitNorway weren't interested… I guess they have their own agenda. Planned tours, ect… Not really interested in freelance/independent workers.
But so glad someone else in my country had some sense and at least gave you this opportunity! Good luck! 😊

  12. Keep going on, you bring a rare part of entertainment in showing what a real holiday should be about! Your videos are really entertaining and visually astounding.

  13. Thank you so much for all your work! I visited Oslo in 2022 with my family and got inspired by you to plan a bikepacking trip – Developing a 4-day loop, Bergen – Hardangerfjord – Rallarvegen – Bergen for Sept 2023. Looking forward to using CycleNorway to refine my plan! THANK YOU!!!

  14. Been in Norway a lots of times. Skiing and biking. And I have been cycling in the alps in more than 20 year. But because of your videos I’m going much more to Norway in the future. Your videos are so cool, great nature and a lot of humor. Keep em coming. Good luck with the website. I’m looking forward to see it.

  15. Like others here, I sm surprised you got so much rejection. Can you find some camping and bikepacking brands for a llift? Or Patreon for those of us that love your channel, information and attitude. If 17000 of your subscribers kick in $5 each you’d be hauling in 85000 helping hands!!! I am down with contributing somehow so let me know. I have watched you for eons, it is the least I can do.

  16. Congratulations/ Well done Mathew, I live in Newcastle upon Tyne, my wife was born in Bergen (Norwegian father) and her sister lives in Oslo. So we love Norway and regularly visit it, but more in winter than summer. I’m in a backpacking/gravel/wilcamping cycle group and we are hoping to venture from Scotland to Norway sometime. Could not come on your cycle weekend earlier this year. Hope our paths will cross sometime. PS we have a family cabin/hytte near Haugastøl. BW. Ian
