Göttingen is a university town in Germany. The Old Botanical Garden includes a medicinal plant collection as well as an arboretum. The Altes Rathaus is a centuries-old town hall in the town’s rampart-ringed medieval heart. Outside is the Gänseliesel, a famous fountain topped by a monument of a young girl holding a goose. The Bismarck Tower, built in the nineteenth century, gives views of the town and adjacent forest to the southeast.
Goslar is a town in the Harz Mountains of Germany. Its historic old town and half-timbered homes are well-known. Market Church St. Cosmas and Damian has stained-glass windows from the 13th century. Historic murals can be found at the Imperial Palace, which dates from the 11th century. Rammelsberg Mountain, to the south, is home to over 1,000-year-old silver and copper mines. Underground waterwheels and a mine train are preserved at the Rammelsberg Mining Museum.
Hornburg is a town and a former municipality in the Wolfenbüttel district, in the German state of Lower Saxony. Since 1st November 2013, it is a part of the municipality Schladen-Werla. It is situated on the Ilse river, a tributary of the Oker.
