You shouldn't need license or registration if it's a proper e-bike that is 750 w or lower and has a speed limiter to 21 mph like most qualified ebikes do
Its not Ebikes its assholes on bikes in general. I see plenty of folks wrong waying on regular bikes and breaking all sorts of traffic laws. Issue is half of them are towing their early possessions behind their bike on a shopping cart. They wont stop the bums because you cant extract any money from them. Wont stop the general assholes that break the law on regular bikes because its too much effort for an officer with a size 52+ wasteline to chase them down. but oh that guy on the expensive ebike probably has something in their bank account and you dont have to catch them breaking traffic law, just pulling into their house/workplace without a license plate. Just a money grab that will do absolutly nothing for public safety.

Then all bicycles would need licenses and registration which does nothing to stop motor vehicles operators from not caring about the law.
