okay so I have a theory—the SMALLEST bit of leeway. Maybe they don’t actually know what part of the horse tack is the reins? So they read “don’t touch the reins” and they don’t know they are touching the… well, the reins.

Holding the reins of a soldiers horse. Are you thick??! They’re NOT a tourist attraction. Seems to be Americans and Chinese to me 😂. So disrespectful though, they need to give these serving guards more space and have a barrier between them and the tourists. It would drive me up the wall.

Nobody likes to be touch by random strangers so why do they keep touching the horse. A passager in the car do not touch the driver's gear by the same logic no one should hold the reins either. Imagine if the 1300 pound horse was startled and charges but the guard was unable to stop him cause some idiot wants to hold the reins.
