  1. Looks like bikes are once again relegated to traveling further than cars. Looks like the bike lanes will be shared with university pedestrians who will again like on the burke gillman be angry that bikes go too fast. All around far too much money spent when simply closing car lanes would’ve been much cheaper, safer for everyone and better for the city. And yes, I have biked through that area for 30 years.

  2. I wonder how long before one of the fine, upstanding, mostly peaceful junkie shitbags that inhabit every sidewalk of King Co throws a scooter off it at a passing car?

    Bets anyone?

  3. Beautiful design. Thanks for the maps and drone shots. The City has taken too long to figure out transportation that doesn't involve cars. I left in 2010 and never regretted it. I hope this new space doesn't get ruined by tent dwellers.

  4. I get there’s more people for the Grand Opening, but move off to the side of the path – biking, driving, hiking, whatever – when you stop!

  5. WHY don't the bicyclists ever have to pay for the "MILLIONS" that are spent to "accomodate" THEM !!! They should have to pay for Tabs, just like cars !!!

  6. I forget the exact year, but it was definitely the late '80s very early '90s that Seattle was voted Best Bicycle City in the U.S. by Bicycling magazine, and it was well deserved!

  7. Nice bridge. But should have clear seperate walk and cycle areas. For instance have a pedestrian area say 20 cm higher than the rest of the path. As it is it will create conflict between cyclists and pedestrians.

  8. This is BS. with Homeless and crime problems that need to be fixed; money wasted. More crime, and Seattle wastes money on something that is not at the top of needs. This is why I moved.

  9. Looks lovely but can we for the love of god get the freaking North south freeway over in Spokane finished. They have been working on this freeway for decades…and still is years off. Send more money over here, would ya?

  10. Nice, looks like a lot of places along the sides for tents, tarps and garbage fires, good 👍 job Seattle. Not a tax dollar wasted on something else less idiotic….

  11. Seattle and Washington State has a lot of things to do and activity. I really appreciate this city much. I'm a lover of trail, hike and camping. I do want to come here soon. Thanks for sharing.
