I was there at the Fish River canyon also, good memories. You are right it was so quiet there, especially while camping and the night sky was so beautiful. I didn't see an Oryx there, later at Sesriem I saw some. I did see some ostriches.
In some parts of the video it looks like, if you had been on the moon instead of africa. its an unbelievable very nice and landscape there… seems a little bit lost… nearly no civilisation, mankind, wild animals… π
So Nam is done ! Yes the silence of the desert is really loud hey something that can only be experienced not described ! So South Africa next Cape Town ,almost there already have you any plans to see the rest of the country or will you be flying home from Cape Town ?
Wow. Aussenkehr has grown since I last passed through there. I think we stopped at that campsite once either coming down from Windhoek or going back up from Cape Town. Lovely and cool at the river. It gets bloody hot down in the Orange River valley.
That silence! So soothing. Yeeeessss. My favourite music. Love when you use it. =) 15:15 Woah! What a view! 16:55. Beautiful! Very cool you're so close to South Africa. =). Looking forward to next week's episode.

Waiting and wondering if you will be passing my little town in South Africa as you cycle to Cape Town. Hopefield is the towns name.
Namibia is gonna miss you.
Those landscapes looked quite unreal. I imagined the soundtrack of mandolorian on it :p Pat… Are you mandolorian ? See you on the otherside.
Happy Birthday Patrick!!
Beautiful Patrick. Lot of old Dutch names. Hoop is pronounced hope literally means hope.
