Nothing new. Dr. Stephen Seiler came up with this a good 5 years back. He works in Tandem with Inigo San Milan, Pogacar's coach, and Pog follows the same approach. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the pro cycling world already follows this.
So basically train kinda hard but not too hard and try to keep that constant over a decent period of time?
Norwegian method is so much more than just lactate. Check the podcast "The Norwegian method".
They use the VO2Master in sessions as well as the Moxy.
