Viking Way EP 4 – Caistor & water Dales in Lincolnshire – England UK
A Winter’s day walk hike. I will be walking most of the 149 mile Long Distance Walking Trail. Caistor was originally a Roman Town, then vikings and medeival people built up the town that was then burnt down. Replaced with Georgian and Victorian architecture.

Great place for independent shops, a Co-op, toilets, pubs and supplies. There are campsites and cafes.

There are regular buses to Lincoln and Grimsby but no where else regularly and no trains.

Part 5 will be Caistor to ? then onto Ludford for Part 6. All coming this week.

  1. Well done in the rain 🌧. Interesting fact. The Co-op, is at the site of the 17th century Talbot Inn. When they re developed the Pub and carpark in 2010, a Roman burial ground was uncovered 😮. You have no idea what's under your feet. 😳
