“On the basis of fear” sounds like a great title for the next biopic of a Supreme Court justice
Point is not the only spike for the com use. We understand that glucose spike is normal for the body it’s just to monitor to better understand the body function. Just like you said sugar spike could be due to many reasons and that’s one when eats will be more particular to not to eat glucose spiking food to further aggravate it. Like stress eating etc. so it could be beneficial to people those who are prone to be pre diabetes or type 2. I think like a blood pressure machine it’s useful to monitor but of course someone who has done the entire research and know the purpose of using this other than as a fashion statement
It’s really sad that you are discouraging ppl with misinformation
While you don’t even look fit
This is a lot of words used, simply to tell us that this guy does not know what he is talking about. Channel blocked.
Thank you for putting it all in perspective.😁
Obviously the apple spiked your glucose levels higher than the friend chicken because the fats in fried chicken are bad for you but they don’t spike your sugar levels. They do OTHER bad things to your body, that glucose monitor didn’t tell you it was better for you. It just told you that the apple contained more sugar. If you’re looking for something to tell you what the best food to eat is, don’t turn to a CGM. But if you’re a diabetic or interested in tracking and learning about your glucose levels, then yes. A cgm is going to be beneficial, but don’t take the piss and eat friend chicken every day just because your glucose levels aren’t spiking. Use your brain…
Jessie inchauspe also known as glucose goddess that you are mention in your video says exactly the same thing. Eat fibers first proteins and fat after and last the carbs. I agree you need carbs ,so is jessie, depending on what is your daily activity. She is focusing more on the order of what you are eating. Of course there is a difference from person to person and there are many other reasons that affect glucose levels. She actually perform a test where she had the same food with her friend the same time doing mostly the same things during the day and the spikes were different. I agree that if you focus to much on the target you will lose the forest. I dont agree much with the antispike peels that she starts selling but generally i think she gives good advice. Basically she doesn’t want to eliminate glucose spikes she wants more to control them as far as i understand. You can have a look on her book. She mention cgm but didn’t said for every one to go and buy them
Pricking your finger 2 hours after a meal should suffice for those that are not diabetic.
His criticism of CGM is like saying "You know what the problem with water is? It has no fiber, vitamins, minerals or many other things your body needs." Correct, it is water. It serve a specific purpose.
Blah blah…do not trust any doc since plandemic
This guy is a douche .
the fried chicken is actually the healthier option provided it was fried in beef talo and not breaded. grilled or roasted would be best. And its not the spike to worry about. The average is what matters.
THIS IS THE DUMMBEST video on the internet lol
Firstly, GI spikes from food are only due to carbs thats why the apple has more of a spike than KFC coz chicken is not carbs, its protein. Of course anyone who has a brain understand that KFC is worse than an apple because its a highly processed food.
Secondly, i dont think anyone who uses these one-off CGMs use it to make blood spike readings as the ultimate & ONLY measurement of good health. Its just one measurement to help you understand what foods generally causes you a spike, how much spike, and how to perhaps make better choices in life especially with food
I cant believe an actual doctor is saying that the measurement of blood spikes is not a useful thing to understand. Exactly why many people have lost faith in doctors coz this shows how some doctors dont fully understand true health. Bruh stick to your drugs.
So I've always been normal or underweight, ate a very healthy diet and been very active. There is some history of diabetes in my family but not a lot. I have 2 hca1c measurements and the NHS have diagnosed me as having type 2 diabetes, they are interested in monitoring my weight, blood pressure, lipids etc (which all very good) but the only thing relevant for the diagnosis was the hba1c which is blood glucose average over 3 months. (I am trying to lobby for c-peptide and GAD antibodies tests as I am personally not completely convinced that's enough to conclude I have type 2 but that's an aside.) My point here is just that yes, actually current NHS diagnostic guidelines are to just consider blood glucose levels to determine whether someone has diabetes.
I don't understand this take to be honest. A CGM is not all you should use, obviously, as it only measures one thing, but to say it is not useful or is just "dumb" is misguided at the very least.
You are so dumb mate!sorry.
Thanks for this info – not only will I save money, but you also gave me some things to think about, to adjust some of my habits so that I can better manage my Diabetes.
Thanks
1:06 that apple was created to have more sugar not same apple of 1800
Doh! It's about glycation and the length of time you bathe your proteins in glucose so destroying them.
CGMs are the only way to see what your diet is doing to you.
You won't die from your diet today. But you may well be 10 or 20 years into prediabetes and not realise it. That's true for 1 in 9 adults in the UK by ONS statistics.
Diabetes is the greatest risk factor for CVD and cancer (Dr Seyfried) and that is all about chronically raising your blood sugar and insulin through eating carbs all day long.
I know that Dr David Unwin is a real doctor, I believe what he says and he has the BMJ articles to support him. Look him up. See him advocate for CGMs.

I can't believe this guy is for real.
So we should not measure our blood sugar spikes because we are too stupid to interpret and analyze the results? Got it.
If he's a doctor, why is he fat?
According to you, CGMs should not be worn by healthy people. How does somebody know that he is healthy? You could have a normal fasting glucose or a normal HBA1C and you could have insulin resistance at the same time without you knowing it. Usually, my HBA1C is 5.2 or 5.3 but without changing my usual low carb diet (I have been low carb for more than 7 years now) the last time it was 5.8 which is quite high for me. I have been wearing a CGM 2 or 3 times for 2 weeks each time and I could see that I did not have many spikes. I eat only 2 meals a day so I usually have 2 spikes during the day that were not very high (under 140 mg mg/dL) but they did not decreased at my fasting level for at least a couple of hours which means that I am insulin resistant. I would not have been able to know that without wearing a CGM. I am a 72 years old woman and everybody in my family from my mother’s side is diabetic. I am very interested in preventing that disease and I will do whatever I can to do that.
I would recommend watching Ben Bikman and Jason Fung to learn more information about blood glucose and more importantly insulin. We can't forget that we've all been relying on calories to stay thin and obesity has been trending upwards over time, where we are the most obese we've been
Life saving
What about borderline diabetes? Or people who have a family history or diabetes and have symptoms of hyper and hypoglycaemia? Or potential signs of insulin resistance (like skin tags)? Surely these people would be more able to learn how to eat well to keep themselves feeling tip top, and to prevent developing actual diabetes, if they had a CGM?
Do you have any thoughts on he latest H5N1 outbreaks? Human to Human transmission!

Obsessed with CGM data? What a joke! Life’s too short to let a device control you.
I think everyone should have one and it should be free. It's definitely a leaning tool, especially for people how eat at fast food restaurants daily. If they can see and understand what's going on inside there body, they may be try getting healthier by understanding more.. certainly people like you are not fixing people like them. You can tell someone every day to diet and exercise , but until they see the problem for themselves it won't get fixed. Your certainly not on the side of getting America healthier. It's a first step in learning.. and all your doing is just the opposite. Just an other educated idiot
The primary benefit of a CGM is to track average blood sugar levels over a period of several days, and that is extremely useful data. The spike patterns, although a secondary benefit, can assist in tailoring behavior to reduce inordinate spikes such as changing the order in which you consume foods at a particular meal.. You might have mentioned choosing to consume the proteins and fats first and the carbs at the end of the meal.. I have found that eating the salad at the end of the meal instead of the beginning can have profound effect on spikes.
I feel a bit disappointed here. Insulin levels are directly related to a load of illness. Type 3 diabetes (altzheimers) all associated with blood sugar and the response. All of the issues that affect glucose spikes should be monitored. It’s like weighing yourself it’s not the be all and end all but it’s a good guide and a reference point. What are you defining as unbalanced? – the food pyramid is a myth – plants are now finally being unconvered for their risks. Or are we all in the cows are bad for the planet zone here.
This doesn’t seem balanced it seems more like a rant.
much fruit is high in SUGAR,and is NOT reccomended by many Doctors..
Maybe compare a steak to apple next time.
I got a watch with health tests, the pulse oximeter works ok, the BP monitor did not correlate with an arm sleeve BP meter close but still did correlate data. the worst performance was the Blood Glucose Monitor whose measurements bore no relationship to actual measurements. I surmise that the Glucose measurements were probably extrapolated from dodgy data initially. I'm type 2 Diabetic and conducted my tests over two weeks. My sleeping rate never dropped below 4 and my day rate never exceeded 7.5 The test data from my device reflected this data curve regardless of whether I ate a hefty carb breakfast or just drank water as a breakfast substitute. I would consider it a reckless health risk to rely on such a device as a medical device. I manage my blood sugar levels by my diet and am not currently using any medication for my diabetes.
