Nafplio is a landmark for the new-born state of Greece, every step you take in this city you stumble upon streets with names from the war of independence. It has been the first capital, the place where the first “parliament” was establishment, the first military academy, the first military hospital, the first pharmacy and among so many others, the place where the first governor of the new state of Greece was assassinated. But above all it is a city with constant historical traces, from the mythical inventor Palamedes to the ancient, medieval and modern era.
