I was lucky to check the bike out a few months back while at the van Rysel headquarters in Lille. If you haven’t seen the video from that trip, then may I politely point you in that direction

All we know about the bike is that it will be joining the Van Rysel road lineup alongside the RCR, a bike the team has successfully used this year. Unlike several brands, which are now amalgamating their lightweight race bike and aero bike into one platform, the Frenchies are going to have two separate bikes. From that, we can presume the new bike won’t be as light as the RCR, a frame that tips the scales at 790 grams for a medium.

The design is nothing groundbreaking, and it’s certainly not as controversial as the Colnago. It has all the usual flair and design flourishes you’d expect from an aero bike. And in the limited info that they offer, it is claimed to be the fastest in class. We will see what that means at its official launch, I’m sure. The only real numbers we are given is that it saves 14 watts over the RCR.

After some digging, it looks as though it will fit 32mm tyres. It has a one-piece cockpit that is proprietary to the frameset and was actually produced in conjunction with Deda. Aero gains have been refined with the help of SwissSide; all in all, it’s what you’d expect from an aero bike in 2025.

We hold our breath for the true launch, so please stay tuned. But for the time being, hit that play button and enjoy.
