The #Trek e Caliber really is a great bike, I loved the aggressive riding position ( it is a cross country bike after all ) and you feel very sure going on those downhill drops.

However, it is plagued with electrical faults on the drive unit / speed sensor to name a few ( well mine at least ), It spent more time at the bike shop and Trek than actually being on the track.

So it nearly messed up a Scotland biking trip!, I took it for this test ride, after again extensive work and a new drive system and bottom bracket from Trek, Sadly….this ride was mostly done with no power, as the system kept switching on and off all the time on this ride, Often on the up hills which really kills your legs, as it was on / off like 3 or 4 times in quick succession.

I did pick a wet and muddy ride, to fully test the bike out, as this is the normal kind of ride I throw at it!

Again sadly..it failed..its a shame as had the drive system worked correctly it would have been an amazing bike.

Now..I’ll give #trekbikes their due mind you, after nearly a year of issues and after this failed test ride, I took the bike bike to #bigpeaks ashburton and said its no good ( btw.. #bigpeaks at ashburton are amazing..just saying! ) #trekbikes lived up to their promise and replaced this bike with the #fuelexe bike ( very very nice bike! )
