Had a service at Bike Treads in Swindon for the Yamaha XSR125 on a beautiful but crisp mid November day. They lent me a bike for the day – although the service only takes 2 hours, because the valve clearances need checking, the XSR had to be thoroughly cold to do that.
So the loan bike was a 2023 Voge 525X with about 2000 miles on the clock. Seemed like a lot of bike for the money (£6k) and the 2024 version is even better value for money.
Took a ride out across Wanborough to Childrey over to Chilton Foliat, Hungerford, Marlborough and Honeystreet before returning to Swindon via Devizes, Calne and Avebury. 100 miles or so.

I thoroughly enjoyed the ride on the bike. It felt planted and did everything I would have expected of it. As Chinese bikes go, this stood out as comparable with any Japanese bike – much better than the Benelli. I’d consider buying one if I wasn’t so much in love with my Bonneville.

Looks like a pretty nice bike. I love the sound of a single.
I'm about the same age as you, and I know what you mean when you say you have difficulty getting a leg over.
I’m very sorry rob but I had to switch off your video of the Voge because the crackling was a pain and I couldn’t hear more than half what you was saying even on the 125 it was even worse all you could hear was the exhaust on that I will still watch your videos because I love your channel but had to give this one a miss sorry mate have a great Christmas
Hi Rob interesting video . As the owner of a CB500 i am impressed with this Chinese bike , better looking than mine although i would not swap my Honda for it , my CB runs ok on E10 or E5 and returns 85 mpg . Also how do you rate the HJCi90 or is it a RPHA 90 i also have one, have a nice weekend .
Great footage Rob. Beautiful scenery and some great music. Familiar sound from the Honda engine. Nice 100 + mile ride. You've got some stamina lad 🤣
Great scenery, know the area well. Granted the accoustics were an issue, but the wind/engine noise and your commentary were still better than the music !! I was in agreement with your comments on the bike except I thought the silincer was too bulky. The abhortion which secures the number plate seems to be standard on many makes and would stop me from buying all of them.
Great video but audio was like communication betwixt spitfires in the battle of Britain'
Lovely part of the world you live in Rob. Was it too cold for your buddies? I must say the older I get the softer I get (76 in February) which unfortunately makes the riding season shorter.
A delightful winters ride, the scenery is stunning although, it's along way to go for a service. Chinese bikes! They are good at stealing technology and not paying or it, so much for Patents. The market is being flooded with these bikes, cheaper yes, but will they stand the test of time. People I believe are already having problems getting basic spares. I bought a new Honda CB500x for £6250 this year and I think it is a better buy than the VOGE in my opinion. Anyway, the sound is a problem with the GoPro some of the time Rob but the subtitles are excellent for me. Keep them coming mate.. 😊👍🏍 NJ
Hi rob as a owner of the DS525X on a recent service i took out the vogeAC350 a twin ….mightly impressed could be right up your next bike street..🙂🤔😀very light an low…cant believe how well it goes….
Never heard of that bike, looks quite nice
You should try the 350 , it's really good
Lovely looking neck of the woods, what the word "England" used to conjure up. Inside leg shorter on one side 😂😂! I'd need a micrometer to measure that myself on these chilly days. Seriously though that's the first Chinese bike I've seen that I've fancied.
Hi Rob, good to see you out again on a bike similar to my Honda 500 Hornet, hope you enjoyed your 100 mile ride and the weather looked really nice, we have just the cold and damp at the moment, and there is yet another storm coming so they say, why don't they stop naming the storms and we might not have as many??? All the Best.
Nice looking bike but side panel paint is coming off, sounds uninspired like a lot of modern singles and as someone else commented that hideous number plate carbuncle. Why don’t they put on small mud guard and mount. Chinese bikes have that stigma and whilst they are no doubt got better I’m still not convinced. I’ll probably get back lash for saying that but that’s my preference and opinion.
3:32 I’m not sure Honda would agree with that 🤣 11:19
Interesting video Rob – thanks for uploading. I have been considering the Voge R125 to replace my ageing (1973) Honda CB175 but no decision as yet 🙂
Looks like a decent bike but none of the websites show full spec (as far as I can see). Seem more interested in showing you financial deals than telling you about the bikes
The rear end of that bike looks awful……
Decent looking bike so same engine that in my 500 Rebel? ( now sold)😢
Bought a MT07, it’s got the low seat and am still on tip toes.😢
Persist.
I heard great things on the Voge 350😊
I visited Bike Treads yesterday (Fri 6 Dec 24) . Nice 90 mile run out from Bristol to collect a part for my Himalayan. Well, perhaps not "nice", but it was OK until I ran into the precursor to Storm Darragh 🙄 on the way home.
Can't understand a word. No captions. !!!?
