I have €1500 from work to spend on a bike, to which I’m okay adding another few hundred. It must come from a “reputable” bike shop, so that limits me more or less to a new bike.
I primarily want it to improve the length and enjoyability of my daily commute (6.5km each way, half of which is urban, the other half is open, and all of it flat because I’m in the Netherlands).
I’d also like to start using it for fitness and maybe some longer trips on weekends.
For comparison: I’ve been on a [1998 Gazelle Touché](https://imgur.com/a/ezayU1V) with a 51cm frame for the last 12 years.
My two biggest constraints:
1. I’m 155cm, and my inseam is around 71,5cm
2. I need to store it indoors, preferably immediately in my entryway, which is [unbelievably small](https://imgur.com/a/8pqr6EE).
* Straight handlebars
* As lightweight as possible
On constraint 2: My current storage plan is to loosen the handlebars on the stem and [rotate them in line with the bike](https://imgur.com/a/IuzhXu8). Then I will hang it vertically from the ceiling, flat against the wall. This may or may not also involve removable pedals — not sure how much I can keep them out of the way. If I follow this storage plan (I’m open to suggestions), then it leads to the two sub points for minimizing space and allowing me to lift the whole thing over my head.
Local dealer suggested the [Cannondale Quick 3 Remixte](https://www.cannondale.com/nl-nl/bikes/active/fitness/quick/quick-womens-3-remixte-c31330f) in frame size XS. Neither he nor others in the area stock this frame size, meaning I can’t test ride it or try lifting it over my head. I think this is the leading option, but I don’t know how much it weighs and [this blog](https://www.cyclingnews.com/reviews/cannondale-womens-quick-3/) made me realize I shouldn’t buy it without testing the fit.
I also really like the [Cube Nulane SLX](https://www.cube.eu/nl/cube-nulane-slx-skygrey-n-black/651400) (<10kg, flat handlebars) but I’m not sure that the XS frame is small enough, and I have similar problems finding a dealer who stocks it to go test ride it.
The [Trek FX 3](https://www.trekbikes.com/international/en_IN_TL/bikes/hybrid-bikes/fitness-bikes/fx/fx-3-disc/p/35021/?colorCode=blue_bluedark) is maybe another option. It runs around €900 or so, but I guess I could use the extra for accessories.

I don’t know anything about fitness/hybrid/trekking bikes, so it’s wholly possible I’m leaving entire brands out of my searches. I am hoping someone here can come up with some good recommendations!
