A five hour walk that was so good, I walked it twice!

This video was originally filmed in July 2024. However, a camera software update rendered all the video unusable, so I repeated the walk again in August 2024, after the issue was remedied.

A 17-mile linear walk to the summits of the highest peaks in the three English Counties of Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.

My walk begins in the Buckinghamshire town of Wendover and heads up into Wendover Woods to the highest peak in Buckinghamshire, Haddington Hill (267m).

I then head downhill to pick up The Ridgeway, passing through Northill Wood and into Pavis Wood, the location of the highest peak in Hertfordshire (244m). From here I pass through Hastoe and into Tring Park, skirt the edge of Wigginton, then downhill to Tring Train Station.

From Tring Station I follow The Ridgeway up over Aldbury Nowers and Pitstone Hill, then turn right halfway up Steps Hill towards Ward’s Hurst Farm, and down Hog Hall Lane to Dagnall.

Heading uphill again, I join the Icknield Way, passing through Whipsnade Village and ending on The Dunstable Downs, the highest peak in Bedfordshire (243m).

This video was filmed in 4K on a GoPro Hero 11 and a DJI Mini 3 Drone, on a mainly bright day in August 2024.

If you would like to suggest a walk for me to video, please let me know in the comments.
