Excerpt from the Copenhagen episode in S02 – Mikael interviews Pernille Bussone from Cycling Without Age – http://cyclingwithoutage.org – and NGO that empowers the elderly and takes them on bicycle rides, with amazing effects on their health.
Would be great if you all wore helmets… if not for your own safety, then at least so someone doesn't have to see your brains splattered on the street if you ever get into an accident. PLEASE – they're really not that expensive, especially in Denmark! And they ARE IMPORTANT!!!!
Do you think cycling could work in cities with harsh winters? Like Moscow, for example, where we have snow for about 6 months of the year, and cold weather, and sleet. (man, it's miserable)
i'll buy one for my grandma and make reeeeal comfortable. With a thermo box, ashtray, super soft pillows, retractable leg rest, seat sliding out for easy boarding, handles popping up on demand, and last but not least, a roll cage and a suuuper comfy seatbelt. Not that i think she's ever gonna need it with the big phat tyres i'll put on there and the low pressures i'll run them at to make the ride as comfy as possible. My topspeed will be 10kmh. I'll keep it ryebread powered because she anyway wont wanna go fast
Mikael, sir, why many occidental countries had refuse bicycles for years? is it just cause cars cost more and make bike look cheap? maybe 1948 film (Ladri di biciclette) make it look for poor people? the relationship with chinese communism in 50s? cause while the car changed the bike almost did not? or just lobby?

I’d volunteer for that constantly if I lived there
