Generative music from heartbeat data recorded while cycling on the Alban Way, a converted railway between St Albans and Hatfield, England. The graphs show the ECG (bottom), heart rate vs time (middle) and the generated melody (top). Each chime corresponds to a heartbeat; the melody and dynamics are generated from heart rate variability.

The Alban Way is part of Route 61 of the National Cycle Network.
Sensor: Polar H10; camera: Wolfgang GA420; software libraries: matplotlib, moviepy, pyo; bicycle: Condor cycles 🙂
