  1. Big deal? Really? It is true that the Ace is a porky brick, but otherwise, what is the big deal? You guys did parrot Wahoo''s claims, but actual reviewers have found many of those claims fall short.

  2. This is hilarious. Only about 3-5 years ago you were talking about bike anxiety knowing which bike to get lightweight or aero or gravel etc and consumers having too much choice. Now we have one great all round bike choice, we’re going back to more SKUs which will just keep prices increasing.
1 bike model, different specs, different materials to get price down, MORE sizes will help keep costs and waste down. More customisation at point of sale suck as crank length and cockpit sizes will also help reduce waste and cost.

  3. I had aero light pedals back in 1986 when I first started racing. Granted, those were just steel axels and plastic covering. Problem with them: 1)terrible to walk around in the “bridge” cleat. 2) Not as easy to clip into fast during a Crit starting line. 3) Not floating or adjustability 4) Need cleat adapter for 3 hole cleat shoes unless you want to nail into your shoe.

  4. Hi Ollie, I think those Aero Lite pedals have been around for over 30 years. I think I can recall ads in Winning Magazine in the 90's. Can we get some ideas for gravel racing over bad corrugations. Thanks Danny

  5. I reckon that cable actuated Chinese groupsets (either L-Twoo, Wheeltop or Sensah) will be sold on entry level bikes from at least one major brand by 2030. It might take a couple of more years after that to see any of the brands' flagship components on more premium models.

  6. You can’t be the lightest and most aero bike at the same time but you can optimize the two to make the fastest bike for general use that isn’t for niche events like hill climbs or TTs.

  7. Want vs need sure comes into play. Racers want top of the line and may be able to justify spending crazy money, others just need a bike that is appropriate for THEIR riding style. Used bikes can usually fit any price point.

  8. You want to know why you won’t see exciting entry level bikes? The market rejects them, the only people shopping on a budget care about is groupset, weight and price, when trek made the domane alr3 many years ago people pooped themselves at the idea of a sora equipped bike when you get 105 for that money, at budget bike prices you have to pick where you invest and where you save money and people put way too much priority into the rear derailleur that comes on their new bike and not enough into the ride quality the bike delivers…

  9. I would love to see more adorable bikes out there. It’s the way to make cycling attractive for newcomers and more people on bikes is a good thing

  10. Last year I built my own gravel bike to my specs for $2000USD… I bought the frame from China and sourced a combination of high level and lower level parts to finish the build.
And I love it because it is made for my size and comfort.

  11. "Chiner" bikes are the next thing. Every "enthusiast" will want/have one. The industry has made this happen. We knew what going to China meant. We knew they would not respect patents or copywrite. We exploited their fledgling society, and some made a ton of money. We also showed them how to make sweet carbon everything…they were happy to let us do all the RnD while they watched. So now we are here. NA and EU prices are bs and we all know it. And China now makes some of the best carbon made parts in the world.

  12. So Alex is jealous of Ollie going to the Pirelli factory in Italy. But didn't Alex just come back from Colnago and drove a Ferrari?

  13. You have forgotten about military bikes for the army. In 2025 we will have worldwide conflict, and British army would need thousands of bikes, and e-bikes, since no mechanized forces are insufficient : ) Let's try. Something new and realistic

  14. 22:20 Ollie don't make coming down here a priority for that. (toilet emoji) The Coriolis effect doesn't come into play until much larger distances.. 😉 That being said, it is summer down here.
