Today we dive in depth about the various different ways to use your surron in the UK legally. There are many different options to riding legally and staying out of trouble, first off – a road legal version of the bike you own is a great bet, it means you can use if for commuting care free assuming you have the correct documentation and license. Another way you can legally ride your bike is to use it on private land, stay away from government or council owned land, this can lead to prosecution as well as seized bike.
I also briefly touch on some tips on how to blend in and stand out less when you are on trails or in the woods. Drawing as little attention as possible to yourself is key.

If you damage crops or the ground with tyres track you can be charged with criminal damage not section 59 .
You can riide green lanes ie ancient byways you must wear a helmet motorcycles lce or electric with an appropiriate.license
You can't have fun in this country unless there is tax on it. There is literally a law for everything and people think they live in a free country? We have even had our freedom of speech taken away. Imagine you work for the police and your job is to brutally turn on your own community to enforce tyranny just for the sake of a wage?
Do you realyse Police are the gatekeeper to a free life 😢
To clarify, the police can issue a section 59 warning to a rider on any land. Public or Private… This lasts for 12 months, not 6… Part of the wording is contrary to sec.3 RTA, or section.34 RTA (any land not consisting of a road or highway – i.e woodland and farmers fields) an in a manner which has or is 'likely' to cause alarm, harassment or 'annoyance'… So if anybody phones the police because they find it annoying… Or if the police have previously had complaints about the issues there, then that meets the 'likely' to cause element… Just be sure to get the land owners permission, and the landowners details so the police can contact them and confirm you have permission. If you have confirmed permission from the landowner, then don't worry you should be fine – providing there are no public rights of way going through the area. 👍
It’s you gods right to travel it’s still common law look it up
trespass is a grey area because just by tresspassing you do not leave the land as you found it, you can be had for criminal damage you are much safer to get permission from landowners. BOATS,green lanes are unsurfaced highways so come under the law, bridlepaths and footpaths are no go…ive been a 4×4 drivers for many years it can be a nightmare!!..on a positive note tho, most farms have old gravel pits have a word with the farmer locally last time i checked farmers asked 100-150 for the day pay n play days for 4x4s so get a group together and have a full legit bash day could end up getting enough interest to form a club get the farmer involved and set the pit out properly….should be much easier as youre not howling round a pit in a straight piped V8 🙂
The cops won't know this. You'll have nothing but grief from them. I used to drive a vintage vehicle and had to go to court twice to get impound fees reimbursed and would get pulled over all the time because the old bill simply don't know the law that applies to vintage cars.
If you even leave tyre tracks, they would try and arrest you for criminal damage
trespass is still illegal, as a private landowner can legally use the law of trespass against you (common law) but not criminal (generally)
What about riding on the path
Moral of the story… Don't stop for the police
Illegal secondary legislation not law…
Section 59 warning and seizure, at the time of the stop one goes on the rider and one goes on the bike simultaneously. This means if the bike is stopped again and issued one and there is a different rider, the bike is seized. Alternatively if the rider of the bike goes out in a different vehicle, including their own car, the warning sticks with them and should they find themselves stopped again the car will be seized. Warnings last for 12 months.
What are the laws for a trail in the uk that is not specified for a riding trail?
As soon as you spin the wheel & commit damage it is aggravated trespass & you are committing a criminal offence.
I really don't get the issue with the UK gov, they don't want people on petrol bikes in the woods doing endoro because its "loud and disrupts the trail for others" but electrics are as quiet as can be but are still an issue? At this point we just live in a nanny state that wants it's fingers in every citizen to control what they're doing. This country is dogwater.
its an electric bike no clutch or gears, realistically you shouldnt need a license, you just need training to ride safely, on a high torque motor, and be over 18, the laws are there to stop idiots , but the laws are only stopping mature people, and idiots are still on the road, creating chaos, which are causing the law makers to make changes, to add more restrictions
Its such a shame chavs ruin it wearing no helmets and riding like absolute helmets.
Good luck trying to get insurance for an e-motorcycle thats not a mainstream bike. if kawasaki or yamaha built it then you may get it, but anything you have adapted to make road legal is diy and you wont stand a chance.
So if over 40 u can ride a road legal one without driving licence, just need insurance
Happy riding ( Bristol, UK ✌🏽
Police seized my surron LAST NIGHT. I was illegally riding on the road and I wish I had just stuck to offroading
Ur a div
Can you do your cbt on an electric bike?
Great video, very informative, what camera do you use ?
You dont need a CBT you can register it as a 50cc
So if I got a Talaria X3 road legal when I'm 16, I can do my CBT, and ride it at 28mph max speed, but can I cut the brown wire (to increase max speed to 45 or whatever the max is) when I am 17 (I would also get my full driving licence then as well) still with my CBT or do I need another licence above the CBT. Pretty sure cutting the wire would class it as 125cc. Also would I have to switch insurance if I were to cut the wire at 17? Looking at purchasing possibly. Btw great vid.
Can you register it and make it legal in italy?
So when you're challenged on private land and leave, you have to ride on public roads right?
If you trespass on private land and ride a mechanically propelled vehicle you could fall foul of sect34 of the RTA 1988 as you do so without lawfull authority, that's why they say it's legal to ride on private land with the owners permission.
Can a drink and drive banned person use this in the road?
i ain't gonna fight you boss. can i have a go? nice one.
Got rfn pro I’m smoking surron and talaria 💨
Can you go to a field
I never knew about our treaspassing laws very fascinating, ive always rode petrol but got nervy out in places i didnt know, but on my 60v surron its a quiet breeze literally
Can I risw this with my full car license on the road? Any advice on any legal implications please?
