Today there are a lot of interesting updates from the Kurakhove direction.

Here, in their relentless push to advance in Kurakhove, Russian generals have imposed a strategy of unyielding assaults, disregarding the devastating human cost. This brutal approach has reached the boiling point and finally crushed the morale of Russian troops, leading to mass desertions that are now spreading uncontrollably through the entire region.

As Kurakhove proved to be a tough place to achieve a penetration, Russian forces have intensified their focus on a flanking operation targeting the southern approach to Kurakhove. Using the village of Dalne as a staging ground, Russian commanders have devised a plan involving platoon-sized mechanized assaults, typically with three to four BTR or BMP armored vehicles. These vehicles transport stormtroopers into treelines considered tactically significant before advancing toward Kurakhove itself. The stated objective is to secure these positions and create conditions for semi-encircling Kurakhove from the south and east. However, the reality on the ground paints a picture of chaos and desperation rather than coherent strategy.

The assaults demonstrate a blatant disregard for human life. Combat footage shows Russian forces repeatedly sent across open fields laden with landmines. In one sequence, a BMP strikes an anti-tank mine, disabling the vehicle and forcing its occupants to dismount into a death trap. Exposed and disorganized, the dismounted troops scramble for cover only to face relentless attacks from Ukrainian drones, which drop grenades with lethal precision. Survivors often seek refuge in nearby treelines, but these areas are under constant drone surveillance and are quickly targeted by Ukrainian demolition teams.

These futile assaults highlight the absence of a rational operational goal. Russian generals appear to prioritize advancing at any cost, regardless of the overwhelming evidence that such efforts are doomed. The treelines that Russian forces aim to secure offer no substantial tactical value beyond being the next arbitrary objective. Ukrainian forces, recognizing this irrationality, have strategically minimized their presence in these areas, relying instead on drones, mines, and artillery to exact a heavy toll without engaging in costly direct confrontations.

Even when Russian forces attempt to adapt, their efforts border on absurdity. Frustrated by their inability to make progress, Russian commanders ordered an amphibious operation across the Kurakhove reservoir, assuming the Ukrainian positions along the coastline were lightly defended. Soldiers equipped with rubber boats prepared for the crossing under the cover of darkness. However, Ukrainian drones with thermal imaging detected the group as they assembled, and precision strikes obliterated the assault force before it could even launch. The operation, like so many others, failed before it began, leaving piles of bodies and shattered equipment as the only result.

This cycle of hopeless attacks has devastated Russian morale. Soldiers on the ground are acutely aware of the futility of their missions. Survivors recount being sent into “meat assaults” with no meaningful chance of success, only to be slaughtered by mines, drones, and artillery. The Russian Southern and Easterm Military Districts that are responsible for the Kurakhove direction have suffered mass desertions, with reportedly thousands of soldiers abandoning their posts in this region alone. Interviews with deserters reveal a shared sense of hopelessness and betrayal: many complain about broken promises of payment, being sent into combat while ill, and the general indifference of their commanders to their survival.

The desertions have created a cascading effect, further weakening the Russian ability to sustain assaults. With fewer troops available and the remaining forces demoralized, the intensity of Russian attacks has significantly diminished. Ukrainian forces, meanwhile, have capitalized on this breakdown, stabilizing the frontlines and continuing to inflict heavy losses on disorganized Russian units.

Overall, the situation in Kurakhove epitomizes the larger strategic failure of the Russian military command. The obsessive focus on advancing at any cost, combined with a callous disregard for the lives of their own soldiers, has rendered their operations not only ineffective but counterproductive. As Russian forces bleed out in senseless attacks, the Russian offensive is reaching it’s culmination point every hour.

  1. The barrier troops must have been relocated to Kursk to herd the NKs into battle. But this is just a small, local collapse. I suspect Putin retains the confidence that his superior numbers will inevitably prevail. The Ukrainians have made good use of that confidence. The tragedy is that only now is Ukraine starting to get the kind of capability to disrupt Russian logistics it has always needed. Russia has to maintain a high level of logistical support to achieve numerical superiority on the battlefield. If that support wanes, the large forces grow short of ammunition, food, and other necessary supplies. That sets up desertion and retreat and Ukraine's careful, tactical recovery of territory. Look for Russia to push a redistribution of barrier troops to plug this hole. Sadly, Russian numerical superiority does give them months if not years of further endurance. Ukraine needs to pick territory for recovery very carefully. The development of Ukrainian air power has been too little, and if not accelerated, will expose Ukraine again in the future to the disadvantage of inadequate air power. Air power with good ISR could punch holes in the barrier troops.

  2. Desertion Threatens To Starve Ukraine's Forces At A Crucial Time In Its War With Russia, Source AP
Over 100k Ukrainian soldiers charged with desertion, this type of misinformation you spewing doesn't help Ukraine, it leads the public into thinking Ukraine is managing fine when it's in its most critical phase, but for most of you YouTubers selling views and t shirts is more important than the cause you claim you fighting for

  3. I feel sorry for the poor Russian soldiers that are forced into hopeless and pointless Cannon fodder attacks just to catch bullets attempting to drain Ukrainian supplies. I cannot imagine their desperation between advancing to their deaths or retreating towards their deaths. Neither can I imagine the suffering of their parents, children, wives and siblings.

  4. The same problem have and ukraine more than 200.000 ukrainians abonded their positions in 2024 make a video for this. This is why ukraine pass a law for those who run away to not face any trial if they agree to go to the first line again.

  5. Why would poor Russians continue when elites in Moscow and St. Petersburg live like kings or fled to the west with their money? They need to wake up to the propaganda and lies. Ukraine better watch the turncoats.

  6. One can only wish the deserters the best luck and a lot of success. Maybe they find one or two of those who didn't care about their survival. All those reports are absolutely gut wrenching, when you remember, that there are surely mostly normal people on the Russian side.

  7. Imagine if Lex Luthor, Joker, and other lesser criminals started attacking citizens in several cities after the local police tried to get them to leave. The criminal henchmen go into smaller cities and elect themselves mayor and take over the town governments. The people cry out to Superman, Batman and the Justice League of America for help.
The heroes’ response? They send Jimmy Olson and Robin to give the citizens “fighting“ tips and also send along bat-a-Rangs, bat grappling hooks, and Bat gas canisters and wish them well saying: “We stand strong with you but don‘t want to get involved because it might escalate the response of the criminals.“

  8. If all the Russians that lost there lives would have stood up to putin. This war would have been over by now. This war proves what cowards Russians really are.

  9. Interesting to hear about Orces deserting, when Western media report that mass desertions have developed to a major issue on the UA side too. Any comments?

  10. Over the winter, when attacks slow down, Russia will recruit another 30,000 volunteers per month and have the forces rt start again in the spring.

  11. Why all media lying about Ukrain news ? Can someone tell us how many Ukrainian soldiers died ? And if Ukrain is winning how come Russian soldiers advancing in eastern Ukrain ????

  12. Failed missions, abandoned positions & major desertions, this should result in HUGE Ukrainian land grabs and advances but report after report of such situations has seen little gains. Come on Ukraine, drive back, move forward, hold and repeat.

  13. Why is so that no one in the mainstream media of

Western Democracies seems to be concerned with the real threat of the rise of Neo-Bolshevism and Neo-Sovietism in today's Russia under Putin's Stalinist-type rule?

  14. This is a strange flow of the people, all maps shows how RU advance all the days and here in the video they escape, retrat in the direction to KIEV=?..
