  1. ¡Excelente! Muchas gracias por un vídeo increíble. In 2018, I had a bike crash that kept off the bike for six weeks. I was searching for bike videos on YouTube to help pass the time, and there you were! One of the first videos I watched was your trip to Cuba with Dana and Dom. It´s still my "favorito!"

  2. That shirt inspires me! 😂 At the moment recovering from life saving surgery so haven’t been biking for weeks and It sucks!

That said, grateful to be alive, grateful to my partner for putting up with me, grateful to the team of amazing doctors and nurses and grateful for having met you. A long road of rehab awaits but determined to get back in the saddle again!

  3. 2 years ago the stresses of owning and maintaining a car was weighing down my life and my joy wasn't there. I was thinking how i could improve things. Learning to live local without a car seemed a good start which meant I would need a bicycle because walking is painful and difficult for me. I tried a cheap bike to see if i could ride, it was uncomfortable because it was didn't fit but i could ride. So at 72 y.o. i sold the car and got some bikes that fit and that i like to ride. I've rode over 5000 miles the first year, my joy is back and my gratitude abounds. Thank you Ryan, I take the long way home most days.

  4. Someone mentioned St. Louis, which reminded me of riding the 1989 Moonlight Ramble with over 20,000 other people. I love night rides and this was incredibly fun and interesting. Nature's medicine.

  5. Greetings from England. Thank you Ryan for your inspirational videos. I have cycled twice in the U.S.A. Half of the Trans Am & the Southern Tier in 2014.Thank you to all the wonderfull people I met along the way. Been cycling today & feel great for it. 77 next birthday.

  6. "The year that is drawing toward its close has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature that they cannot fail to penetrate and even soften the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever-watchful providence of Almighty God." – President Abraham Lincoln, 1863.

  7. I don't have a car so biking is how I get around. It's freeing being able to do things on my own.

2 I'm in the military and we run a lot and I have plantar fascitis (pain in feet) cycling allows me to exercise without hurting myself further.

3 I have a dog and I use my bike to run? him 😊

  8. A very inspiring video Ryan😊At the age of 66 I have had my best year on the bike this year, with 6226 miles so far with a full month left to go and over 400,000ft of climbing! My previous best was 6223 miles so I have surpassed that, I also did my longest single day ride this year which was 170 miles! Hopefully the Scottish weather will allow me more miles this year😉Cycling keeps me fit and gives me freedom, I just love it so much👍

  9. I have been biking serious for the last 25 years, but been biking my whole life nearly. i biked while in kollege, i dont have the letter see, so i use the letter k. I lift weights and workout a lot besides biking. I bike for fitness and pleasure. I don't bike nearly as mu-h as you do. As mu-h as i love love biking, i think too mu-h of any one thing is bad for you. But i will say that biking improves my mental health as well!!

  10. As a orphan that has never had family, and got into trouble in my twenties, making me play catch up in my 30's. I can say that now in my 40's, that the bicycle has made this life worth living for me. Learning that I didn't need a car was freeing, even though in the relationship scene its a major negative. The bike gives me the freedom and option to do what I want no matter my money. I rode from NC to OR with 300 bucks, and the kindness of strangers. Now my next tour is gonna be more even bigger. When I push myself on my bike I push myself in life.

  11. My exchange student went to an adventist school while in the states.. for Thanksgiving, the school did a meal… one of the dishes was a vegan meat type product… It was actually quite tasty! Better than the turkey loaf that I experienced on another Thanksgiving…
but about cycling…. an entire week riding with my boys that I do not see much of… on Ragbrai… that was so epic!!!!!! and Cycling… it is, like they say, a great way to get and stay healthy!!! My body and my brain… cycling lets you get out and explore… discover, challenge… faster than hiking, slower than driving… and its great for my adventure vlog channel!

and hello to all our cycling peeps!!!

  12. So many inspiring people! This was a good year for me. I ride Elliptigos and am very grateful b/c they allow me to ride and remain healthy at 69 yrs old. This year I have ridden 150 days, 1700 miles and 128k ft of elevation change. Next year I am signed up for RAGBRAI, and my Son in law wants me to join him on his trans am adventure in ‘26. I would never have been able to do anything like that w/o a bike! Thx to Ryan for turning me on to ragbrai, looking forward to that challenge

  13. 13:22. Im in a swamp somewhere!!!! I so vibe with that!!!!! Heck, I might put that on a tshirt, with a bikepacker silhouette on it! It's like bikepacking takesd you to places you might never ever go to, other than your two tires can get you there quicker than hiking, and more fun than driving…

  14. Awe! This is a beautiful video full of only a small snippet of the beautiful people you have inspired, and the community you have created. This makes my heart so happy and big. I agree with whoever said below, cycling saves lives. It really does put a person in the right crowd of people making good choices: moving, being outdoors, eating well, loving and supporting one another and the planet, volunteering, taking care of mental and physical health, being connected to others. I am soooooooo grateful to you Ryan for showing how much good there is in the world. I love bikes no doubt, from a very early age. But I stick around for your videos because you highlight and uplift the good in the world. From your interactions with those you meet on trail, to our patron community, to the communities you roll through in Mexico, etc. You have a tremendous gift, of showing the good, while also at times honoring the bad that comes with life. I'm just so so so so thankful for YOU that you exist and you've created this space. So fun to be in a Duzer video next to my developing chosen family and tribe! They're all so wonderful! Looking forward to the next virtual burrito dinner together! Ride on Ryan, Ride on.

  15. Getting back into cycling got me out of a physical therapy office after a serious motorcycle accident. Being able to recover doing something I enjoyed so much when I was younger has been such a game changer mentally and physically. So much better than showing up for physical therapy a couple times a week. My recovery has been sped up as a result. Next year planning Maine to Fla..🚴‍♂️👍

  16. Ryan – I was in your neck of the wood last week on I-80 going through Denver and Vail to California. Going there was fine but encountered that snow storm coming back. It was snowing like crazy in Vail but I made it through. Started cycling part-time for several years and during COVID, I took it to another level and have not stopped. I bike commute to work and then ride during weekends. Already participated in 4 straight RAGBRAIs and will be doing my 5th next year. Even signed up for my first Unbound gravel race next year. So excited……
