Just came back from my first overnighter a few days ago, and i wanted to share my little adventure :). I cycled about 125km and 2290 meters of elevation trough the Taunus in germany, mostly on gravel and singletracks. The weather was really hot and dry and the landscape was beautiful, but it was also sad to see the huge amount of dead forest in the Taunus, due to fires and extreme weather conditions. Also i had to shorten my trip about 25km, due to an mechanical issue :(. I lost one of my cleat screws and couldn’t get my shoe off the pedal 😅. But after an intense 20 minute fight against my shoe and pedal I got the shoe off with the help of an other cyclist and rode the last 20km home in flip Flops.
I really enjoyed my trip and i will definitely go bikepacking again!
Ps: I know a overnighter isnt that big of a Deal, but im only 15 years old and im a diabetic so it wasnt that easy to convince my parents for this trip 🙂
