Marie Ascot in Burghfield Auclum Speed Hill Climb and Burghfield Box Kart Bash Berkshire.
The bits Autoshenanigans missed.
First I conjure up the ghosts of the Auclum Speed Hill Climb circuit with a walk speed-up to rallying speed when he likes of Sterling Moss raced here. Risking life and limb on those dangerous Brooklands like embankments.
The track was built in the Huntley and Palmer biscuit’s millionaire Neil Gardner’s garden. Lord Nuffield the MG millionaire was in attendance. You can see more about him in my Nuffield Place video. https://youtu.be/3ISMeUXVIio?feature=shared
Racing ceased in 1974 and the place abandoned.
The Burghfield Box Kart Bash is an annual soap box cart events raising money for Charity.
