South African Rugby World Cup winning captain John Smit tells a fateful story of legendary Springbok second-row Bakkies Botha during a clash between them and the All Blacks, during a back-to-back series against New Zealand.

He told this story alongside Hanyani Shimange and his fellow Rugby World Cup 2007 winner Victor Matfield in the most recent episode of ‘Boks Office’ where they also preview the RWC 2023 semi-final between South Africa and England and ask if the Springboks will take victory again after winning the 2019 final, or can England push on and make their second successive final?

  1. He goes to church every weekend 😂😂😂 How do you keep a straight face to Cappie don't worry its just a bad angle knowing there's cameras that will have a field day if you laugh😂😂😂

  2. I am sure if I met all these blokes including John Smit, they would be good company, funny, salt of the earth people in real life. But I’ll never forget JS talking post match about how God saw fit to shine his light on the Boks and seal the victory. I’m paraphrasing but it is incredible to me the blur that occurs between sport and religion. It’s more than simply programming

  3. Joking and laughing about a potentially fatal assault.

What a pack of spineless cucks.

Bakkies should have done prison time for his repeated violent assaults on the rugby field.

  4. I remember watching that game where Bakkies headbutted Jimmy Cowan….Bakkies charged down Cowan's kick, Cowan subsequently pulls Bakkies shirt and holds him back. Deserved headbutt
